The thing that I don't understand and especially from the media, is that this is MP's first season and this isn't his squad.

I'm sure that's the reason why he didn't rush to make any rash decisions in the January transfer market because he's still assessing the squads needs.

And look at the performances he's getting from a team that isn't really his, players like Nasri, Milner and Kolarov have come on loads already this season.

I can't wait until he gets his own team in.

No, it's because it's not his job. The manager doesn't sign the players; I'm sure he has his say but ultimately it's not his decision.

Pellers will carry the can as manager, both in the press and on the forum. I pity Norwich. They will have tonight's result taken out on them.

Just had another look at the stats and our pass completion was 83% against their 73%; we also won 32 tackles compared to their 15 (but some people post that they wanted it more).

They didn't need to tackle as we usually gave them the ball without them having to bother. And most of those completed passes involved the back four and Hart I bet.

Our top four passers were the midfield players.

Thought Chelski were excellent did not see much anti football to be honest they were just far far more motivated better organised and were better drilled.

The absences of fernandinho and aguero were huge, and we had an unsolvable problem. - which has been on the cards all year- with fernandinho's injury. The only option was de Michelis which left nastasic as the only option at centre half. And his confidence is shot. They flooded the final third to stymy our creativity and did it well, but we were desperately unlucky not to go a goal or two up on the first 25 minutes before they settled. Then our heads went.

I thought clichy should have started, although kolorov was our best outlet first half . And I thought jovetic should have started, but to cut the manager some slack, I don't know how fit he is.

He changed the game because he gave us an extra body in the congested problem area but more than that, extra guile. In the second half we could easily have equalised - but easily conceded too.

Mourinho, the wily old ****, made the whole game about him, the media, the fans, even our own bloody fans fell for it and he came out of it looking like a genius. But I think pellegrini just suffered from one of those nights. With Sergio running at their back two, and fernandinho snapping around the back of our midfield, this would have been a different game.

You don't just win games from tactics. He is a terrific man manager and gets the best out of the players. We were tactically outclassed tonight and anyone who knows anything about football would have brought on a midfielder for one of our strikers at half time - we were being over run.

Tonight may not have been his finest hour but the players have to take some responsibility. Last to every second ball and switched off alarmingly at times. Does that make Pellegrini tactically inept overall ? Not for me.

I have a fear we didn't try hard enough to sign someone. We have been weak at CB and CM for some time, we get an injury and we can't cope.

Barca will beat us if Fernandinho isn't fit and he plays two up.

I would have started with an extra midfielder but, if you are overrun, you do not go and achieve better than average possession.

Agree with everything there. On Milner, I already posted that I do not think he would have won as much ball as MDM or retain possession as well as MDM. Milner might have covered more ground and might have played a creative pass or two but, all in all, I do not think he would have improved things one jot in the middle.
