In recognition of what exactly?

a lap at the end of the season is for the players and staff to thank the fans for there support through the season, well that was my interpretation of it for 35 years of winning nowt..

Double last season mate and it's the classy way to do stuff not like the raggies.

He would be mortified at the idea. Not only would it be out of character, he wouldnt want it to be known until after the game that he would be leaving.

I'm not saying it's true but, since when was it Pellegrini's decision to build the CFA Academy for our first team, and all youth team, purposes?

That's what I thought too, either way we were always going to move complex whether the squad liked it or not

Tbh, I can imagine that story could be true. Not that the team doesn't move, but that the team doesn't move in the middle of a season.

I recon if you asked a lot of old pros, they would be dead against changing the training routine mid season & argue like fuck against it if it happened in their playing days.

Kompany may have voiced that concern.

Moving mid season always seemed a dumb decision. I'd imagine that the team voiced their concerns via the skipper and expected
the manager to stand up for them against the executives. If he didn't then it would be another element leading to "a lack of trust"
and confirmation that he was weak. Mancini would have just phoned Khaldoon and instructed him to tell Txiki and Soriano to get stuffed!
I can't see a strong manager like Mourinho being prepared to move mid season.

Explain what the problem is in moving to better facilities

Another load of crap about Vinny.

He was fully on board with the Campus move and spent a lot of time on it, also permission from Pellegrini to take a defensive meeting each week in the new analysis suite.

Perhaps Vinny should have left the defensive chats to someone else, mind you.

New environment. Much longer drive to work from Cheshire due to it not being just off the M60. More traffic, remember most of our players
are used to driving on the right hand side of the road. A whole series of minor points. The facilities are better and will produce a long term
improvement but it was still an unneeded distraction to move mid season. Dave Brailsford put the success of the UK cycling team down to the
accumulation of a whole series of minor advantages each of which on their own sounded quite trivial.

But the new training facility should be an advantage.

I think it was a crazy decision as well. Yes they are all minor details but like you say, they all add up. It's a better facility but it's unfamiliar and it's a different route to work and all those other things add up. I know people like to simplify football and harp back to the good old days where you'd turn up half cut and play on trench like pitches and then be fine to play the next day... there's a different breed of footballer now and they won't cope as well to that change mid-season. It probably affected them to an extent, but I doubt it's the reason we've been so pathetic on the pitch. There's more to that than the change of training facility.

Iv'e read it all now. Yeah, must be a ball ache driving to work now, training in world class facilities and then having to drive all the way home again. Just another lame excuse as far as I see it.

Fuck knows how they used to find their way to work on match-days!
