Are we having a go at him playing Demi in midfield yesterday? Demi was a defensive mid before he got converted to a CB. I know the experiment din't work against Chelsea but 1 game doesn't say much. And for gods sake its a friendly !

Also if you remember Demi went to midfield in our last league game when Fernandinho came off injured. He obviously thinks that Demi could do a decent enough job there as and when needed.

Emery is an awful coach ....but I like him ....

I don't see a whether a team parks the bus or not as having anything to do with us playing with one or two strikers. We look better & more comfortable with one & with creative players like Silva, Nasri, Yaya etc behind a main striker I don't think we'd be short of an attacking threat.

In the last 6 games of this season, we've gone with the lone striker & won all of them and if anything we've looked a more attractive proposition by far as the results & displays testify. Previously we've played with 2 strikers & were beaten by Burnley, West Ham & Stoke. Every team in the PL has the ability to beat any other, so I think it naive of us to view those sides as weaker & set ourselves up differently.

Based on this season, I'd have preferred us to have scored 10 less goals & conceded 10 less, because its those silly losses against the 'weaker' opposition who we have underestimated that has ultimately cost us a chance of competing for the title.

But nothing is guaranteed and those 10 less goals you want, might not have come in the games you hoped.
So might not have changed anything apart from GF & GA columns in the league table.

Fair points. No argument from me.

Bizarre doesn't even cover the shit I've read about this friendly. If ever there was a manager we've had who can't do right for doing wrong, it's Manuel. Such a shame and deeply ironic that we shit on the classiest manager we've had in my lifetime.

Can you give me an example of when we did this?

Or did you just read it on here and it fed into your Likkle City insecurities?

Even the British media, who love nothing more than to shit on City at any given opportunity are trying to be circumspect about the Pellegrini/Guardiola situation. I get the feeling they all know it's more than likely going to happen so acting like it's impossible or City are being stupid in wanting him is pointless as they will have to eat those words at some point.

Demi has played midfield for us about 20 times, usually pushed forward due to a sub. A bizarre thing to have a bash at him for.

And I actually don't care if he plays a full team in these games. The reason I want him to play youth in the first team in the PL and Cups is so that they can get used to the speed of thought and fitness needed in the first team. Playing in half arsed friendlies is almost useless to them and could be argued that it makes their proper team debuts even harder as they had a wrong impression of the required quickness.

As a marketing exercise which these are then bring out all the stars and the nice dancing bears, doesn't really matter. Though having a few kids on the pitch is always a nice thing for them to experience emotionally. I'm all for a full team in the US.
