Has he gone yet?

It's all that's relevant really isn't it

Interesting that Pab Zab is saying that the team need to look at themselves and that they lacked believe after the equaliser whereas Pellers just keeps banging on about the points still available.

Seems to me that MP is playing a straight bat to maximise his pay off.

Just another manager that can't see the wood for the trees.....or simply won't

Since Pardew took over at Palace they have scored 15 goals from set pieces. That includes the direct FK against us, but still, it's a set piece (though maybe you can't plan for that as much.)

My point is:

1) we should have known they are a huge threat from set pieces - did we plan for this - probably not
2) They clearly work all week long on this - how to score goals if they aren't looking like scoring from open play. Does it look like we plan like this? It appears we just go out and assume our better group of players will beat the opposition.

Mancini had to go. He was pissing everyone off at the club allegedly. No complaints from me there.

But as someone else said Pellegrini then took over Mancini's side let the shackles off a team that while still defensively strong was struggling in the creative area.

But what also happened virtually from day one was that our up to this point very solid defence suddenly looked panicky. Due to what was going on at the other end of the pitch we got away with it, but only just. Very talented forward players had delivered the title.

But that sort of gung ho football was always going to struggle if one or two players lost form. There was no defensive organisation to fall back on. And we have been constantly exposed by everyone from United to Middlesborough.

We are now officially a defensive shambles.

Now the powers that be must have recognized that last year as we went out and bought one of the best young centre backs and a midfield protector in the Makalele mould. But neither of them have been integral to the team this year.

That suggests that there is a disconnect between Txiki and Pellegrini. Either the two ex Porto playesr are duds in which case it's Txiki's fault or Manuel just doesn't understand why they were bought. In which case he's stupid as it is obvious to everyone that defensive solidity is what is required.

The other issue is whether our Spanish duo have undermined MP mid season by searching for alternatives. It would certainly explain the loss of form. If that's what has happened then they need to stop doing it. If a season is not unfolding how they want it, sort it out at season's end. It cost us an FA Cup in my view and if this has happened again and ends up costing us a CL place then serious questions need to be asked.

All this talk of Pep does my head in, get a feeling that if we are indeed waiting for him we will get our fingers burnt. Get rid of Pellegrini, hire Vieira. Simple.

How do you know Vieira is any good ? Surely the people who saw what Guardiola had that made him able to step up are the best placed to make that judgement.

I don't, but Barca didn't know how good Pep was until he was in charge, never really know how a manager will work out. As long as Pellegrini is gone and they don't appt Rafa then we are good to go.

Yeah but Pelle doesnt care about opponents specific strengths/weaknesses. I doubt he would go and look for videos about WHU right now to check their current form, way of playing etc.

He hardly does anything about our weaknesses like corners/being open in midfield/defending shapes...

We reached a point where I have no idea what he spends time with at trainings.

2 weeks before Palace game, what we were working on?
1 week before derby, what we were working on?
1 week until WHU game, what will he do in training with the team?

Excellent post. Mancini built the foundations to what was an exceptionally well organised, mentally strong defensive unit which controlled games from start to finish. Yes, at times we lacked that ability to open up teams. But we always controlled games. We were rarely vulnerable in the way we have become. Regardless of what people felt about his personality or management style, the guy installed a mentality of success at our club which we hadnt had for fucking years. Right now, and as soon as that first Utd goal went in, we look 10 years away from what we were.

How many more examples have you got, Pep was one there are hundreds of examples of ex players getting a top job and failing. As we have the people who chose Pep, I would assume they could spot whether Paddy has the same qualities. Maybe he has I don't know but neither do you, that's the point.

We'll see in the next game if Pellegrini is worthy of another year or not. If he drops Kompany and Yaya (the captain and vice captain) and gives the likes of Silva, Fernandinho and Aguero the support they need then he's shown the balls to manage this club.

He needs to play the players that give us the most fight. Yaya and Kompany have had plenty of chances, yesterday was time to show their form and ability. They failed. Give someone like Hart the captaincy. He was bigging them up in the tunnel - he loves the club and he will organise the defence. He's a natural leader. Or give it to Kun or Silva as reward for their ability.

Either way, Pellegrini needs to show the squad he is boss. His system doesn't work without committed players. For a big game I get why he picked the side he did... but they didn't repay his faith. It's now time to show them what happens when they don't fight for the shirt.

So basically it's come down to if he can beat a team that has won 1 out of the last 10 league games at home. The fact that question is even being asked should answer whether he should stay

Whether we beat WHam or not, Pellegrini has to go. One win over a team on equally as poor run as we are proves nothing.

Why should Kompany be dropped, he was one of our best players until we went off injured. Yaya agree with though, time for him to be dropped.
