What baffles me is if against the stronger teams we're a better outfit playing with just one striker, surely we should be even stronger with one striker against weaker opposition?

I just don't get why we have to accommodate MP's obsession with 442 any longer as its been proved twice this season already we're better without it. He's had enough time pleasuring himself this season with 442 which has probably cost us competing for the title, so surely its time for us to play our best formation, put square pegs in square holes and allow the players to become comfortable with the formation that suits us best.

The problem is not 442 formation, the problem with this formation was we do not have the type of midfield players to play it. To play 442 formation we need at least two of them: Pogba, Koke, De Bruyne or Verratti,

That is correct
I've said all season that we should play 4-2-3-1, not because i prefer the formation but purely because the players we had i felt this formation would suit our play the best.
If we sign two of the four you mention then it's possible our strengths would be to play 4-4-2

What you're actually doing that you don't seem to realise, is making your text stand out in such a way where it is potentially annoying to people and will result in us removing the ability for people to colour their text. Basically you're cutting off your nose to spite your face

But nothing is guaranteed and those 10 less goals you want, might not have come in the games you hoped.
So might not have changed anything apart from GF & GA columns in the league table.

I know that the goals would have to be taken away from strategic games and the same for goals conceded, but I honestly can't see why.we set up in our perceived optimum formation for better teams and set up in our weaker formation for easier games. Why not just keep it the same and make the adjustment to suit the opposition on the day if necessary?

So 442 is the problem then. Why play it if we don't have the players? Shouldn't we play the hand we're dealt?
