One thing that I do feel marks supporters out as clueless is when they come on here and bandy that word about in relation to the manager.

You think a professional football manager who made it to the very top of the game ISN'T an expert?

Throughlly bizarre opinion

It reminds me of the old adage, that it's a shame that all the people who could sort the country out are far to busy cutting hair and driving taxies

Spot on.

Dont know why were looking at Pep et al, there are far better qualified on here.

Nice to see the manager having the balls to drop big name players just what they needed for me! I'd change lampard for diniho and that would be my team for the rest of the season as good as balanced as our team can be playing 4-4-2

We could have a forum devoted to discussing how to sort the country, and then have everyone just say "oh, the people in charge are better qualified than me so I'll just agree with what they say".

No, there are people on here who have been following football long enough to have their own opinion. That's all there is too it. Disagree by all means but all this "fans know fuck all and should keep quiet" is bollocks - the fact it comes from two mods who are extremely intelligent doesn't alter that.

So what do you want? Posts to be vetted to ensure they meet with committee approval? 99.9% of stuff posted on here or any football forum is largely emotionally charged drivel. None of us are actually qualified to comment on the manager. We could employ Neil Warnock and he would still know more about the fucking job than any of us so I say again what exactly do you want? Keep our opinions to ourselves? Have only a few approved posters with rest of us pressing the 'like' button like nodding dogs?

A forum needs regulation. It's not entirely a free for all but equally you do not want to create an atmosphere where people are inhibited or disinclined to give an opinion even if that opinion is absolute arse.

Because after 7 years on Bluemoon Ive come to the conclusion that most spporters haven't a clue :)

And the whole thing of football being an expert domain, which you have to have expert knowledge of to professionally manage which supporters dont possess.

But mainly the first one

I have to say, I don't necessarily think a football manager who made it the very top is an expert.
Plenty of managers have made it to the top and nosedived right after, thus suggesting it wasn't their expertise that got them to the top, but a series of opportune appointments and a face that fits.
If it were down to expertise, you'd expect that same expertise to offer continued success over a number of years.

I'm not saying all top managers are charlatans, merely that not all top managers are necessarily experts.

I would say some might have great motivation skills, OR they might motivate players merely because of their stature in the game, but that doesn't equate to them being experts.

Do we have a dead ball taker? Because it seems anyone takes them and all are poor mainly! Take west Brom today they had about 5 dead ball situation and put in a decent ball everytime... This is what Pellegrini is letting himself down in...

Agreed. Whilst we all might talk bollox from time to time, its what this place is for.

If it wasn't for those clueless supporters posting their clueless opinions, you guys would be struggling for plans on a Saturday night

Yes, hopefully they have never criticised a manager before (including the likes of world cup winner Alan Ball!).

As for today, I had mixed feelings when I heard the team. On the one hand I was pleased to see Pellegrini have the strength to leave some of our non-performing stars out of the starting line up. On the other hand I was a little worried about having 2 central midfielders that lack pace and mobility.

Ultimately it's difficult to draw many conclusions due to the very early sending off. It became more like a training game but perhaps that was largely down to our good play.

We had lots of chances and should have scored more but it was overall a very good and pleasing performance and just what we needed to hopefully boost confidence. Let's hope we can push on from here and secure 2nd place.

We still had to break WBA down but did it with ease.

Navas is a key player in helping us do that. He stretches teams and retains possession out wide. The defenders have to shuffle over, and he passes it inside. Some fans get frustrated when he does hat. But it shifts defenders out of position

I wish we'd try Bony and Aguero together upfront.

Bony played very well, but I don't like to see him that deep.

Lots of people have criticised Pellegrini for playing 442 but our very best football was the start of last season when we had Aguero and Negredo up front, with Navas supplying them both, and this season when we've named 2 forwards in the starting line up, Aguero has dropped really deep.
