22 shots and no goals = problem tonight was the players' failure to finish.

Agree but tonight, Everton defended brilliantly at times with howard making some crucial saves and at the end, East was incredible for them.

Of course, its all Pellegrini's fault.

ps. Yaya was excellent tonight.

You do know this buffoon won two trophies in his first year? ?

We won it because the players decided to as they were glad to see Mancini go.

We had the best side by some distance that season and we do this one too.

I think any PL manager would have won the league if they were in charge of us that season.

Time to get an interim.

What gets me the most with Pellegrini is that he continually rambles on about playing entertaining football and that's the only way there is.

Ironically I haven't been as bored watching City as much since the Pearce era.

Dreadful, lame, dispirited football.

His legacy is in the balance, for sure.

No trophies this year and on the face of it he's a failure, a yes man who won with someone else's team.

Win the league (really not a big ask with this squad and the low points required) and he's been very successful indeed.

The season starts now for me. Cup games are now knockouts, and we've used up pretty much all of our luck in the league.

I'm not scared, because with the quality we have, it's very possible to sleepwalk through the first half of the season, just staying in touch, whilst saving that extra yard for the PL run in, and knock out games.

At the same time, I'm not very hopeful because we really aren't clinical at all, and the team seems to be in Manuel's image, lacking a touch of arrogance and attitude.
