Discussion: Manuel Pellegrini 2015/16

He's really started to grate on me the past few months Manuel. Every sub he makes are virtually like for like which barely imposes a different tatical approach in the games.

Most of our chances came from turning over Everton in dangerous areas. When we had to build up we very rarely broke them down. Tempo was a bit better second half, but overall I've been very disappointed with it

I agree, but Martinez setting up to concede the centre made it that even when we switched play with a bit of pace, they didn't have to do too much on the horizontal as a team. So it was always going to be difficult to break them down when playing out from our 1st third.

I totally get what you're saying though, I too have been very disappointed with our tempo for a while now, (not to mention some other things,) but speaking on this game specifically, it wasn't the most glaring issue.

A point is disappointing, but not the end of the world, but I was very disappointed with the performance. It didn't look like we wanted to win that game. I am sure we did, but it didn't look like it at all. Did the players not really believe in the plan, whatever it was? The 1st half was instantly forgettable and the 2nd half we got to the byline repeatedly. Almost every attack ended up with City crossing from the deadball line but there was no one there.

I think Pellegrini is losing grip. Strange subs.

This is the way he plays, pass the ball to the right hand side, cross it and we'll see what happens from there. We're getting too predictable now

This season could end up being the worst for years unless there is a sustained improvement. Worse than 2012/2013 atm, although at least we won the Community Shield that year and played in a cup final.

Also, I thought the Arse looked good tonight. Better than we've been lately.

And why the hell is he not starting Nacho?

They look better than us for most of the season. Luckily, they had some fuckups too so they're not out of the sight.

The worst for years? Really? Worse than 12/13?
January 14th 2013; played 22 and 48 points, so slightly better but 7 points off top as opposed to 3 today, so not really better. League cup? Out in the first round we played in 12/13; this season semi final, result yet unknown. So not better there. Champions league? 2012/13, bottom of group with 3 points. Last 16 tie is awaiting us this year. Not really better there then either. FA cup? Through to round 4 with an away tie coming up. Same in both seasons. Not sure in what way it's worse...

Or maybe a manager who could of brought an in form raring to go young striker on. Maybe he'd of put some of those shots away?
Yeah, he could have done that. Or he could expect the high priced players on the field to score 1 of this 22 shots. How irrational of him.

We won it because the players decided to as they were glad to see Mancini go.

We had the best side by some distance that season and we do this one too.

I think any PL manager would have won the league if they were in charge of us that season.

Time to get an interim.
So, when we win, it is the players, but when we don't win, it is the bad coach? Very logical.

The chance to bring kelechi on was when KDB was subbed. We had to switch to 2 up front, Everton were so deep.
