It should be a privilege to watch Aguero, Silva, De Bruyne and Sterling etc yet I came away feeling cheated. Pellegrini has got it totally wrong at the moment. It''s not working. maybe his authority has gone, or maybe it was just a bad night, but for me it's time to rip this pedestrian system up and go with two forward and 4 in midfield
It doesn't matter the system if the tempo is right, it's still going to be 9 defenders camped in their final third.

Sterling had them in trouble when he finally got moved left, yet we constantly went right and slowed the whole game down. It's not as if delufeo is a defensive master mind and closed that side of the pitch off.
Our midfield are so predictable, pass over and back, then hit Navas or Sagna , it has to be a gameplan, because if I was playing in the middle id have ht sterling all second half

Not only are we not performing. We are brutal to watch. The build up is so slow we have to play through 10 defenders almost every game. How he is still in charge is beyond me.
because the board knew last summer that pep was coming year later, can't think any other explanation to why he wasn't sacked last summer.

I reckon he got hung up on the champions league performances and decided to set us up all season they way we'd play against top class European opposition. I remember he got caned for playing 4-4-2 in some games too.

If you play that slowly you allow teams to settle and fancy their chances, he seems to have confused the possession % with the scoreboard

The tempo can certainly be an issue, but this game I still feel that we used the ball well and created enough chances to win the game. The five saves that Tim Howard made were all good or great saves. There were some efforts at goal that blocked well by defenders (which speaks to tempo, yes, but also to how good everton deal with pressure on the road.)

Bad finishing was more responsible than our tempo issues, this evening

Why does the opposition always by pass our midfield so easy .
Well that's easy because we always get out numbered .
Why can't Pellergrini see this .
Im beginning to think he's the John Benson of 2015/16
Caretaker that's clueless

I'm genuinely intrigued as to who you think the club would replace him with if they sacked him now?

Bizarrely if we click and/or get a bit of luck he could end up winning two or three trophies this season but if we do I will have a feeling of thinking ''How the fuck did that happen??'' I like the man as a person but I feel aside from a couple of games where the tactics were spot on it is individual brilliance getting us out of the shit too often. If we win a trophy this season it is thanks and we move on,I am sure a better manager will get more out of this squad.

this is the biggest problem we have, moreso than any formation. We slow it down to literally walking pace every time we get the ball and allow the opposition to get 10 men back behind the ball and get into shape, Making any well drilled team look like a Mourinho parked bus special. Was only a fortnight or so ago that Everton were being hammered by their own fans for being far too open at the back.

Most of our chances came from turning over Everton in dangerous areas. When we had to build up we very rarely broke them down. Tempo was a bit better second half, but overall I've been very disappointed with it
