Yup.

Everyone is entitled to a rant and/or a reasoned opinion. However, can't people at least wait until the season starts?

We also have to wait until September for fully-fit Kun, DMD and the Zab. Patience, please!
All very well invoking patience but we cannot afford to give the likes of Maureen and Wenger a head start for three weeks in August.
I guess that's the problem with having a high percentage of top S Americans in our squad. Maybe that should be taken into consideration in the future when re-shaping the squad.

Unfortunately. Same kamikaze football. The performance today simply was kamikaze football, unbelievable really.

I think that's the problem. Some at the club, certainly the manager, and a fair few on here, think "attractive" football means attack at all costs, kamikaze football, and forget about defending. I call it Pellikeegan football.

Personally I find teams attractive who have a balance between attacking and defending.

It's only pre season so I'm not going to get too carried away. However, to echo other posters, Pellegrini is very lucky to still be in a job after his ineptitude last season.

The only reason he still has a job is because we are one year away from appointing the best coach in football, and it makes more sense to keep him than appointing a Benitez type figure on a one year contract.

I just wish he would abandon pressing high up the pitch as we just don't do it effectively, leaving so much space for the opposition. With that he should scrap the high defensive line as it doesn't suit our players. Drop the defence deeper, get our midfield behind the ball and press when the ball is in our own half.

I don't think it's coincidence that so many of our defenders have lost form since policy of pressing high up the pitch with a high defensive line was introduced. Play to their strengths and we'll see them back to their best.

Stuggart aren't a brilliant team .
He knew who was available .
Even Keegan could set up a team for a 0-0 draw .

appointing the best coach in football,

Agree with everything apart from this. For me there is a question mark against him. Bayern have gone backwards under him and Barca won the treble with Luis Enrique showing that when you have Inieta, Xavi at their peak or Suarez and Neymar with Messi thrown on top then winning the lot is possible even for a manager that bombed at Roma. How good is Pep, I guess we and the world will find out next year.

Back to the present. Today Navas, Bony, Sterling, Silva and Nasri in font of a novice midfielder. Results predictable. For me Pellegrini is a joke and I reckon he'll be gone by Christmas. Vieira will fill in until season's end.

I understand your point about Pep, but it's unreasonable to expect him to win the treble every season, no matter which club he's at.

First season at Bayern he won the double and went out to the eventual winners in the CL semi's.

Second season he won the league by a record margin, lost in the cup final, and went out to the eventual winners in the CL semi's.

It's not exactly a terrible record. Mourinho is considered by some the best coach in the world. In the last 5 seasons he's reached one CL semi with Madrid and not got close in the other 4 seasons. He won 1 title in 3 years at Madrid with the most expensive team ever assembled.

No manager has the perfect record, but I'd take Pep's over anyone else's.

That would mean letting the opposition having all the ball and with the players we have that would be a waste! The high is line is right way imho! It just needs playing right with right players! He seems to be adressing our short falls delph being brought in was for a player that will press the ball the move to 4-3-3 is yet again perfect for the high line with the right balance! It seems that everything is being set up for pep next season!
