Every time I read some of he utter shite on this thread I say to myself, top of the league and just smile.

Top of the league!

Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that his words of wisdom to Delph were "To score a goal" followed by "...it was important to have another man inside the box with Kevin and Kelechi". The question is begging to be answered, if it was important to have another man inside the box, why bring on Delph before Iheanacho?

I can understand his team selections, but some of his substitutions make me wonder what he is thinking.

What I can't handle is that we continually play slow football with no real pressing for around 45 minutes or until we go one behind. We usually get the results as we have good players in spite of this most of the time. Yesterday was a prime example of this we were pedestrian for nearly an hour. This for me is the managers fault, he is the one who should be driving them to be at it from the first minute.

I always remember when he first came, he said - I like my teams to press hard and attack quickly. I think in that case he has forgotten what his own philosophy is and how to implement it.

It's a fair point and I think Pellegrini has to take some of the blame for our poor tempo against lesser teams. Yesterday was practically zimmerframe pace for the first half.

Stems from central midfield IMO. When Toure is snapping passes around quickly and moving through the gears the team responds and vice versa.

Indeed.

I commented that the first half was the best impression of over 50's walking football I'd ever seen ;-).

The sooner Silva is fit the better, said it before I'd drop Yaya for Silva to play that position-Dave can be fucking devastating feeding the front three in a deeper role.

Funny and accurate. I have a great respect for Pel but his Achilles heel is substitutions. Too often he seems paralysed. He keeps on hoping that persisting with something that he thinks should work but patently isn't will somehow work out, until it's too late. By all means if you're on top but drawing, give it 65 minutes. Not 83 though.

Thats up to pellers and his staff to know yaya can not play sat/wed/sun now at this high intense level esp with christmas fixture list comin up too. If yaya spits his dummy out its up to pellers to sort him out . The first half yesterday is not a first time wonder with this team its happened many many times before under pellers

Think it's harsh to say subs are MP's Achilles heel when he has effected many changes which have turned games.

You got to think Yaya's time as a starter in every match is over.
