Can I not question his tactics and his blind spots which he clearly has failed to address this far

This "dead man walking" thing is a myth.

They're not working for MP, they're working for Manchester City FC, so whatever MP is doing next summer it shouldn't affect how the players play.

It didn't affect Bayern's players when Heynkes told their players he was going at the end of the season, they went out and won a CL, Bundesliga, and DFB cup treble, including a 7-0 semi final defeat of Barcelona.

It shouldn't therefore affect ours, if of course they are as professional as they should be, not to mention as good as some of them think they are.

No it isn't a myth. It's the reason Taggart didn't announce his retirement until the season was done. Once players sense the manager is toast they tend to ease off. A lot depends on the situation at the club. In our case it's literally an open secret that Pellers is minding the shop until Pep arrives so how much input does Pellers have? From players we are looking to buy to formation and set up how much is Pellers and how much is Txiki with Pep in mind? We have gone from barely looking at players under the age of 23 under to playing a 16 yo v Real. Most importantly how are the senior players reacting to the situation and are they listening to the coach because looking at that 45 minutes yesterday the lack of application, work rate and organisation was alarming.

The board are taking a gamble with this season believing the reward is worth the risk and I'm fine with that. I get it. But it doesn't mean there won't be brickbats if we have a repeat of last season and it won't be just on here judging by Khaldoon's post season interview.

What also worries me is how Yaya, Kun and Silva view the mediocre transfer window.

Yaya when he put to bed rumours he was leaving intimated that major signings had excited him. Kompany said something similar. We the fans have had our expectations raised by Khaldoun. Think what it's like for the players. If it turns out that the only improvement to the team is Sterling then I can see senior players beginning to doubt the clubs ambition which could impact on results.

Pellegrini leaving at the end of the season shouldn't be too problematic, what is more worrying is him being here this season. His inability to set up teams intelligently will see us fall short again.

The pre-season has been largely rubbish in fairness... Stuttgart and Real games couldn't have appealed to our two big targets who are looking to contend with us for major competitions nor to team confidence just shortly before the season starts. About the only good point was that we had a chance to see and evaluate some of the eds players in action and Sterling who has been excellent.

We probably should have taken both games more seriously as a 'recital' for our quickly approaching season start.

Haha

"Stuttgart and Real games couldn't have appealed to our two big targets"

So the players we are looking at look at our preseason games and we get beat, you actually think they think fuck this not going there they just got beat in an important preseason game?

Can't understand why people are in a panic, the window closes in early September and here we are on August 2nd. It is a crazy rule that the window only opens several weeks after the season closes and doesn't close until the season is into it's fourth week, but it is the same for all. Pelle got the team playing more like the side that won the EPL the year before during the last few weeks of the season, and has in my opinion bought quality so far. The likes of Pogba and de Bruyne are never going to move at the drop of a hat, and as for the defence, where are all these World class defenders? We probably have two young ones in Mangala and Denayer already, they just need time to develop and they have one of the best (Kompany) and MDM to work with. Left back is a problem, but who is available? I think we just need to hold our nerve and don't get silly. If we are seventh in November and shipping goals, that is the time to consider Pelle's future.

Personally I think the addition of Sterling is a big deal. If we add KDB then I think we will have had a very good window landing 2 out of 3 major targets plus Delph at an excellent price. This in turn should galvanise the squad with players also looking to prove a point after last season. I don't especially rate Pellers but he isn't an idiot either so I am hoping that this should be enough.

Having said this we haven't got KDB yet.

We do have a month but I am surprised that we have not put in an offer like we did with Sterling. Surely it would have benefitted Wolfsburg, Kevin and ourselves to get this done before now.

I agree with you on Sterling. He will be a great player for us. But we do have issues elsewhere on the pitch which have needed remedies. While buying the Bundesliga player of the year would turn it into the best window since we bought Yaya and Silva, still worried about our ability to defend as a team.
