Yaya's unavailability might actually help him out in this regard tomorrow. Have a feeling we'll see the 2 Ferns and Delph play tomorrow, with 'dinho in the more forward role of the three. A much more solid midfield in what is generally a tough fixture for us.

Of course that will mean dropping some of our more creative forces, so still plenty of opportunity to fuck it up for our Manuel ;)

Well Otamendi & Sagna are definites. I also agree that the 2 Ferns and Delph is the right choice but I could see Delph, Fernandinho with Silva slightly ahead but a lot depends on Aguero's availability.
I'd say he has to start a bit more defensively though and then open up so would much prefer the 2 Ferns and Delph then sacrifice one if its too defensive.

Rather outdated viewpoints in my opinion.

Firstly, injuries don't even out over a season. Not sure what makes you think that, as it's obvious that some teams get more injuries than others, and some teams lose key players more than others. You would have to go back to the last 100 years or something to get it to 'even out.'

Secondly, yes defending is done as a team, and it's done tactically. To sweep tactics aside as some small part of football is ridiculous, when it's a huge part of any team game (including field battle - one of the purest forms of 'the team game.') Tactics, tactical awareness and tactical evolution is a huge part of why football keeps getting better and more advanced.

Also, your last sentence is not only completely wrong, (as a ton of factors go into who wins a game,) but it is offensive to teams like Stoke who made it to the FA Cup Final with us and we beat them. It's offensive to loads of teams actually.

I hate that the majority of football fans I've come into contact with are stupid, like to spout cliches, and appear to think that the world of football is unaffected by the rules of the rest of the universe. Hurts my brain just hearing them sometimes. PellnotPep's post is not totally like that, but it had enough cliches to remind me of the demographic.

A perfect example of trying to complicate the beautiful game.

So we know where you are coming from, will you tell us how Pellers might "cock it up".

Well to clarify, not starting Delph now means less energy in the centre of the park. Possibly vulnerable to the counter and reliant on Silva today. Its passable due to the players we have out injured but Delph would have been a shoe in for me today.
Nacho for Bony as well, he's more of a threat in behind and its important to stretch teams particularly on the break away from home.

Fernando is too slow for this league - anyone but MP can see that. MP is holding this squad back with his poor selection decisions and naive tactics.

Always been a supporter of MP but I think enough is enough. Same mistakes week after week. MDM looks so out of his depth but plays every league game. I think the stubborn streak had got the better of him and it could soon be too late. The team seem to play with the same intensity as the manager and its continually being exposed.
Getting a lesson off Stoke is a step too far.

same mistakes every fking week, play your best team available and we might get some consistency some day

Been a long time since I disliked a manager this much. Couldn't care less that he's a nice guy.
