Agreed. The final score can only cover up so much. We're abysmal at the back and will win the square root of fuck all if we don't tighten up.

Certainly if we defend as we did first half. Second half we defended much better, with all the back four snapping into challenges much higher up the pitch, rather than just dropping off deeper and deeper. Looked much more like we did in the first five games of the season. The attitude of the players, if not everything, is far more vital than many think.

All told, I think Pellegrini was bob on tonight. Right team selection, right subs at the right time. Let's hope it continues.

He obviously gave them a bollocking at half-time you could tell by Harts comments. Must admit thought the subs would slow us down but he got that spot on. Think Borrusia were out on their feet after 60 minutes but the players played like they were possessed in the second half. Whatever he said at half-time worked. He must let Sterling roam more as he did tonight as he will cause havoc. Just don't get where that performance has been. Well done to Pellers tonight.

I hardly ever use harsh words for any one here but some people are really thick when it comes down to assesing pellegerini, if city wins it was because other team played badly, if we loose pellergerini becomes clueless, i wonder how different such assesments are from the relatively biased press we get, always getting discredited no matter what we achieve.

I would take psv or benfica in last 16 though.

Lets just brush the last months performances, and half of this one, under the carpet then shall we?.
Yes let's. 90% of professional sport is in the head. Confidence is massively important, especially to a team that plays like we do. Imagine if we were in this position and in January we bought kompany and Aguero. We'd walk the league. Effectively that's what is going to happen. Pellers has his faults but some of the shit spewed on here is disgraceful and a little bit thick. Personally I'd replace him as soon as pep available but
He deserves massive credit tonight.

I enjoyed tonights performance. The first time in a while,at least the second half anyway. We played like we used to. With pace and power. We need to push on from here,no more sloppy fucking performances. I'll leave pellers alone tonight, hopefully between now and Saturday he'll sort the defending out which to be honest still leaves a lot to be desired.
