Us or Arsenal. He's already said his next job will 100% be in the premier league, because it's the only other language he speaks well enough to make the move and get his ideas across. I'd be stunned if Wenger stepped aside this summer for Klopp, but you never know they might react to this news and to us wanting him.

Hence we need to get it done sharpish. That is if it isn't already which frankly, part of me thinks, it is.

After their recent form I reckon Whinger will want a shot at the title next year

Arsenal already distancing themselves from any links to him.

Scarily all roads seemingly lead to City this summer. Begins to explain the sudden surge in links to German based players too. I don't want to get too excited because I've wanted Klopp of years now, but fuck me it's hard not to with the way the cards seem to be falling.

Also cannot see Arsenal's ownership going mano-y-mano with us as far as a bidding war. Someone much earlier posted something from BILD about an English club offering an "obscene amount of money" and that just does not sound like Kroenke's M.O.

This is happening isn't it??

All the bits of ITK gossip this week and Klopp's own statements about where he will manage next point to one thing only...

I would be very happy with the appointment but think we will need to be very patient next season. There is going to be a lot of transition in terms of change of style and player changes required for a coach like Klopp so it might not all work from day one. Do we as fans have that kind of patience anymore?

It may well be happening yes, but I think a lot of the seeming ITK info is actually just stating the obvious, like most of us do!....

Manuel's on borrowed time - check
We're starting to look at other managers - check
There's going to be some big changes - check
It's Klopp, Guardiola, Ancelloti, Sabella, Benitez - check (with a 20% hit rate by default)
The manager we want is already in a job - check (most decent ones are)

Yes, but this 15th April deadline day has been quoted quite a few times, although it seemed to have been mentioned more in relation to Ancelotti.

Would love him here.

And he has my blessing to bring Reus and Gundogan with him too! :)

So in a way, nited's resurgence back to being the best team on the planet suits us. They stick with their tactical, 250m team hoofing it to bogbrush, manager. Chelsea will obviously stick, Arsenal likewise - and we get a free run at Klopp.

But not the waiting on an answer from a manager already in a job and complicated negotiations and a date of this week when an answer might be required?

Calling a press conference today to announce something that could have been done in a few weeks to the lesser distraction of clubs involved seems hard to explain unless it is a statement of something to those aware what it means.

Why has he / Dortmund come and said he is leaving? Can't see it doing his team much good.
Also think it will add to the uncertainty over pellegrini ' s future which may also not do us too much good in the run in.

A few reasons

1) Gives Dortmund a head start in looking for a replacement (I know they've named his replacement, but not sure if that's interim).
2) He's alluded to the fact that last minute player sales left him in the lurch, ergo he's not going to do a last minute exit himself.
3) It puts himself on the market very publicly, so he can see what's available (if he's not already been approached)
4) It gives himself a head start in finding a new club and having the maximum amount of time in the transfer window.... rather than arriving late at a club, after all the transfers have been made.
5) It makes it a bit easier for a club to ditch their current manager the day after the end of season, then put a new one in place just days later.

That's what it seems like but it can't be as easy at that, surely.

Playing devil's advocate here, but a lot of Dortmund fans have complained about Klopp having one way and one way only, while the likes of Favre and Schmidt have shown more versatility and their teams sit well above Dortmund.

But... who can't get excited about the idea of Klopp going mental on the touchline and creating a more energetic team? It'd be an entertaining ride whatever happened.

Could be a first, majority of the forum all wanting the same man?

I'm waiting for "I'm not going to MCFC" ;-)

It's a funny old game. Perked me up no end, but a little bit wary he might go elsewhere. He wont be short of offers, and it was always likely he was going to leave Dortmund this year.

Other thing to consider is that one of Barca or Real Madrid might lose their manager..........whoever finishes 2nd.
