Really think Pep is well overhyped. Both his teams were top outfits before he joined. What has he actually proved in management. Personally i think Klopp would be a great fit for City. Or Koeman might be a good choice also. hes done superbly at Southampton and comes across as a very intelligent manager.

To be honest, I think Ancelotti is just about the last manager we need. We need to build a new team, with young players and energy, not just squeeze the best out of old players like Ancelotti likes to do. He ran Milan into the ground instead of looking for younger players, then did similar at Chelsea. At Real Madrid he is at risk of losing arguably the best young CB in the world, Varane, as he doesn't give him enough game time, while Jese has only been given one start all year. I think he's an excellent manager, just not suited to the job we need him to do

Ancelotti still picks Isco, Daniel Carvajal and Rodríguez and has worked with Veratti, Moura and Marquinhos so he doesn't have a complete aversion to younger players. I am stating the obvious here but it's like any player if the manager deems them good enough then he plays them regardless of age,

Most of these are players bought for big money who have proved something already. Of course he is going to play Rodriguez and Isco for example just as I'd expect he'd play Sterling if we paid 35+ million for him. The question is would he give the likes of Lopes or Denayer a go and try to promote the lesser known names we employ?

If they are good enough then yes, Going off the FA youth cup final we are way off having players coming directly through and we will have rely on signing the younger players.

All this waiting around for Pep is pissing me off, these guys want to implement their 'philosophy' that comes from Barcelona on us. Well I say "You can stick your philosophy up your arse", I want us to have our own philosophy, not another team's one, I don't want us to be a "Barca mkII", I want us to be Manchester City, we need our own identity. It's all good being through players but now is not the time, we're in the most competitive league in the World, and we need to keep improving, one season out of the champions league will be negative to our development as a domestic and european powerhouse, once we've got there, then we look at bringing through youth. If we bring in a manager next year in the view of Pep taking over a year later, then I would seriously worry for our chances of getting champions league football, and then what? Will Pep want to manage a Europa League team? Of course not.

All the big managers seem to be available this season, why aren't we getting them? Because our Dof is waiting on a pinky promise, it's absolutely ridiculous to jeopardise next season by not taking it seriously, maybe in la liga you can do it, but here there are 6-7 teams all challenging for top 4. I don't get what they don't see in Klopp, he brings through youth players (Gotze), has champions league pedigree (reached the final) and plays attractive football, all these things are the criteria to manage us, maybe he doesn't fit the holistic view, but blaming your teams doctor of 40 years for a loss doesn't seem very holistic to me.

You will have to either like it or lump it. The club isn't going to deviate from their long term plans for nobody.

Pep is not overhyped, and no, Barcelona was not a "top outfit" before he joined. What he did in the 3 years at the club was mind blowing. He won 14 titles in 3 seasons, so Barcelona wasn't near the level he took them to, before he joined. Bayern had a great team before he joined, but I would like to think so he has taken them a step further as well - but I would rather have Klopp as a coach, as you mentioned, He'll be a great fit all in all.

Well if I was the owner and had a choice between completely overhauling the team at a cost of 200 million net or hiring as I say one of the best 3 managers in the world and buying a couple of players and then winning the PL, I would do the latter. But then I am not as rich as Croesus.
Then in two years you have an even bigger problem and end up with a team of pensioners, like Milan did, which they haven't been able to recover from. We're supposed to building a dynasty, not a mad dash to see how much we can win in the next year or two.

I do understand what you are saying. The thing is I feel the current team have underachieved. We have been the best team in England since we dumped United out of that semi final. We have won 2 leagues out of 4 and by very small margins. It could have all ended up pearshaped. Luckily it hasn't. The reason that we haven't completely dominated is we have had two managers who fall short of the top level.

That's why I want Ancelotti now. Koke, Sterling and Pogba for Nasri, Yaya and Fernando and we would probably win the league. the following year replacements for Yaya, Edin and Zabaleta. And so on. Evolution not revolution.
I'm completely with you. Plus look at what he did with Kaka and Pirlo.

Don't get me wrong I don't think Pep is overrated but calling a team that reached the semi's of the CL as not a 'top outfit' is fucking ridiculous.
