What 'Fiasco'?
You've been shown up all Summer as a soft arse on the transfer forum, now the window is coming to a close and the business we've done is sound, you still can't let go with your nonsense.

So why did pellegrini say lopes was going out on loan then?

I don't want to criticise - my underlying point is that we are entitled to offer critique - as we do with some first team players and our manager

What is wrong with that?

Yeh that's always been my assessment criteria

Really? I'm sure you were saying recently we should judge Txiki at the end of the window. Now we have to wait to see how the players pan out. Between that and the "we over paid/ it's so easy with a blank cheque book" it's not hard to see who those people are who don't like Txiki. Odd as he's just a DoF. Anyone would think he was chairman, CEO, manager, and coach the way everything seems to be on his shoulders.

@Didsbury Dave you nailed it with that post.

Not too long ago people on here were criticizing the players bought by Pellegrini/Txiki were all not performing. Can we first wait and see how our newbies perform over a longer period than 4 games? Most of them haven't even played a minute.

Because that, ultimately, is not in his job description. You're judging Silva as a wing back again.

Txiki's job is numerous but the most visible portion of it will be the improvement of quality in the squad by landing top players to a set budget provided by Soriano. It doesn't matter in the slightest bit if Sterling breaks his leg and De Bruyne is bobbins because that's not his job, that's Pellegrini's job.

His job never ends because his work on January will start September 3rd but his success can and should be judged the day the window closes under the idea of has he managed to:

- Improve the quality of our squad. Do we have better quality of players than we did at the beginning of the window?

- Land the targets we had. Did our stated targets that we had spent months preparing for ultimately end up at the club?

- Address any concerns within the squad regarding quotas. Are we inside the regulations?

Performance is nothing to do with him, he buys them in and let's Manuel get on with his job of coaching them in whatever way he sees fit.

I can't believe for an instant that If we were to be unsuccessful there wouldn't be questions asked of the DOF

For the record I don't believe I've ever criticised Txiki or even the previous executives such as Gary Cook, I'm just curious as to why there is such a fanbase for an executive, who after all, is paid to do what he is doing.

I too am very happy with the players the club has brought in and moved on, I believe this is the strongest squad we've ever had, so there will be no excuses for why we can't win the league and progress further in the Champions League this season (barring major injuries to key players).

It's not about 'not liking' anyone - why are people so emotive with language on here?

Put it this way - he's secured some quality players don't get me wrong - so he's done a good job on that level. I want to see how they improve the squad

David Silva is also doing what he's paid to do. As an actual fan of Manchester City, we enjoy watching people do their jobs for us extremely well and are happy to see it

There's nothing wrong with a bit of critiscm where it's warranted. The Lopes situation was unfortunate but in no way worthy of him being called out for it unless you're of a petty nature.
The big picture is what's important here, always has and always will be. There will be errors made occasionally by all parties throughout the club, but once a bit of context is added you have to ask yourself if we're in good hands. I think we all know the answer to that.
