City are thought to be "one of the only clubs" in the Premier League to have this system? Poorly worded exercise. How many clubs is "one of the only"? I get the impression that it is only one, leaving 18 others who don't have this perk.

Aside of that, it isn't backroom staff who grow the club. It's the players and also the senior executives who search out the sponsorship deals. Not the office staff who are paid for their work behind the scenes. I don't wish any harm to these folk, but when millions of people in employment have had the misfortune to have their pension schemes frozen, or scrapped, then for someone to carp on about losing a free ticket perk when there is a waiting list for these items is just asking for dogs abuse.

No other clubs offer this to employees, city have taken the decision to reduce the benefit to half price tickets. Shouldn't the muen be praising city for still offering such a discount whilst others don't, and then shouldnt they be criticizing other nearly local clubs for not offering their staff the same benefits.

Given the price of season tickets and the amount of people now wanting one I think it's only right this has happened.

Really? How? Because if I were running their PR, I'd ignore it. If someone in the press wants to run a negative story about half price tickets given to employees, then clearly that person wasn't looking to make a careful balanced point.. they just want to sensationalize. And anything you do to respond is just going to fuel the story. Responding by jumping all over it is going to make it look like you really were clumsily hurting employees, rather than thoughtfully extending a very valuable benefit. Or it will set you up in war with your employees. I would advise City to have a quiet word internally rather than "jump all over" from a press/pr point of view.

Just 2 points to raise regarding the, the first being that the employee is entitled to be pissed off, whether he is right or not is a different matter.

However anybody with an issue with there employer should have the bollocks to raise this through the normal channels, if he has done this and still feels the need to pursue it through the papers, then they sould be man enough to put their name to the comments.

Man up or shut the fuck up, there are plenty of people out of work that could cope with basically being given a season ticket for free.
