If we'd have carried on playing in the positive manner of the first half, we'd have won at a canter and this discussion would never be going on now but the manager decided to sit back and settle for what we'd got. I'm sorry but that was tactically woeful.
It's a tactic that I firmly believe is going to destroy our hopes of silverware when, with the squad at our disposal, silverware is very much there for the taking.
Yaya, Silva, Balo, Dzeko.
I think we were makeshift today because of injuries/needing to give players a break because of xmas, and i think we will naturally be more fluid and attacking with those players back.
It doesn't help when those with attacking responsability don't turn up and the defensive lot play like a bunch of amateurs, that came down to the players not performing today.
You are right. It did not help and we did miss those players, however, it was our choice not to pick them. The bug-bear is though, the team we had out would have won if we had not retreated into our typical defensive shell after half time. If there are any complaints from RM about too many games, his negativity is the only reason that we are playing a week on Wednesday.
