Do we have a left footed left sided centre half at the club? If not then how can he be no better than what we have - none of our centre halves play well on the left side - just look at last season (Toure excluded)

Onuoha was great. Anyway, left footedness is not a massive priority IMO. Cannavaro, Vidic, Terry, Maldini, Puyol etc all play left central defence and are right footed.

i think people are being a bit silly about sylvian,come on we all now he is a shit hot defender and come on we all say things and do things we regret,after all none of us really know about the ins and outs of what happend with him at the end,me personally would be more than happey to see him back. I think hes good on the ball, quick,and from what i saw of him when he was with us a great talker to the people round him,so i think if lescott falls through i say bring him in for a season or 2,hes just as good as anyting else round at the moment

Distin never dissed the club or took the piss.A great pro.

Lets have it rigfht-When he left for Portsmouth we looked fucked and they were on the up.It hurt at the time,but they were signing Diarra and Defoe and we were signing Dabo and Dickov.
The badge kissing thing was shite but he was getting big-time shit from "fans" who still don't know the difference between a player who never gave less than 100% and left for valid footballing reasons (at the time) and a so-called "mercenary."

But in pure footballing terms he's past his best.

Absolutely spot on. It's a touch hypocritical for us to suggest that Distin left just for the money whereas players now joining City are here solely for 'the project'. He left to win things and he was proven correct, Kreskin couldn't have predicted the subsequent paths the respective clubs would later take.

not bothered either way about distin,however if we are to increase the quality of the squad we need good pro`s that dont want 100 grand aweek that will work with the first team and put in a good shift when required.maybe Distin would do that.

I'm surprised he stayed around for as long as he did, we were really bad back then. You can't blame him for looking to play european football like he deserved.
