Divorce on the rise UK

I got married this year. If your partner is foreign, you don't have a lot of choice. Without being married, there's no recognition of the right to be together anywhere. There's not much recognition to that right in the UK nowadays anyway, to be fair.

I just left it up to her to sort out, the stupid **** that she was and undoubtedly still is. I laughed when the letter dropped on my hallway.

For one of mine I don’t even know I was divorced until after the event. I rang her one day about something with the kids and said when do we actually get divorced and she informed me we had been for 5 months.i never used to open the post from her solicitor.I then took the opportunity to tell her I was seeing some else. She asked how it was going and I said yes not bad she is pregnant. The ex said wow when’s it due and I said next Saturday and the phone just went dead.

On a serious note, my wife was a Monkees, then a Neil Diamond fan. When she died, the obvious inscription to put on the plinth of her grave was, and is, "I thought love was only true in fairy tales".
Back to the topic. When my eldest daughter got married, I offered the newly weds a couple of words of "advice".
1. Marriage is an institution, but who wants to live in an institution?
2. Never go to bed on an argument - stay up and fight!
They split up, very amicably, 3 years later!
