Do our stewards only hassle Blues

In my experience, the actual City stewards tend to be pretty sound on the whole.

It’s the ever changing security firms they use that cause the problems. Presumably the fact that it seems to be a different security firm each season, means the club are aware of issues. Maybe they should fuck them off altogether and employ more staff themselves? But that’ll be a money decision I guess.

The the COOP Live the operator says it will employ staff directly including security, but that is 150 days a year.

Whoever the older steward guy who's always at the top of the steps in 116 by the away fan barrier is, he's sound. Always really friendly and seems to genuinely enjoy his job. He's been there years and seems like he's a proper blue. Anyone in that part of the ground will know who I mean.

The rotating cast of lobotomised security are another matter.

The young lad at top of 115 is spot on.
Same as the Jamaican lad behind the net of 115.
Never had issues with them and always let on.
Rent a mob stewards are a different bunch though. I was celebrating the 3rd the other night with my lad....tap on the shoulder of one of them who said "that's enough now....calm down"

I would have told him to f*ck off and gone looking for the supervisor steward afterwards. His stewarding remit isn't to stop you celebrating a goal.

Few years ago out here was with a welsh mate of mine in my local bar and told me his mates who flew over that day would be coming in. Turns out they were all Cardiff city fans. So obviously the conversation turned to football. Now my mate was a Cardiff hooligan in the late 90s early 2000 and this was his crew and one of them who was a skinny little bugger was moaning to me about the heavy handiness of Showsec stewards towards him in that they ejected him from the ground because in his words he was too vocal.told him city fans get hassled off them too.

As I asked in another thread: How many Spurs fans were ejected for their "Yid Army" chants? Stewards just aren't interested, and nor are the police even though the chant has been deemed antisemitic/racist.

It’s a tough one that. While I agree it’s distasteful, they’re singing it about themselves.

Hardly any of them will actually be Jewish of course.

If I were a spuds fan I certainly wouldn’t be joining in.
