Do we actually need Tevez?

Without wanting to upset you but do you watch / understand football ?
As your question leaves that in doubt.
SWP would not be in the team (too lightweight, always off balance easy to knock off the ball )Tevez would replace him bringing more work , more goals ,more assists ,more excitement.
More world class players would then also be attracted.

Lucas Neill is a liability and a mercenary and if that is who MH is considering wait for Kevin Nolan and players of that ilk and stop dreaming of the world class players we should be after, if indeed Hughes has the transfer budget or whether Cook will do the deals and present them to Hughes as he did with Robhino
World Class players are not going to respect the likes of Bowen either as demonstrated by Robinho and Elano so he needs to go also.

I agree with tubbytyler. There is a lot of sentiment surrounding SWP, clouding the fact that he is an average PL winger at best. He will be a great asset to the squad, however, if we intend to play 4-3-3 and do manage to sign a world class operator like Tevez, there is no room for sentiment if we want to push for the top 4. Tevez has to start on the right hand side of the 3.

Do I watch or understand football?? What a daft thing to say as I simply asked if (1) we'd want to strengthen a weak squad and (2) would another 5 foot forward fit into our team?

I believe if fit SWP is a top Premiership player and causes so much trouble down the right. He is best as right winger in a 4-4-2 but can't trust Robinho as left winger. If he plays up top with Tevez - I don't believe that's a good front line as they are too small.

That was my chuffing message. I don't like 4-3-3 as a formation.

4-3-3 always seems to work on pro evo. back to reality, texes on the right, robinho left and bellemay up top is good enough for top 6, alltho david villa/samuel etoo would be better

Cant trust Robinho !!!!!
Our leading scorer !!!!!!!
Put some better players around him and watch how many he gets then.
SWP as already stated too lightweight good squad player at best.

Robinho Drogba / Etoo Tevez

Stop playing computer games and grow up.

If city had a limited transfer budget or he was to be one of a few signings this summer then I too would be questioning where he fits into our team- target men and central defenders are clearly a bigger priority. Our front men are a bunch of speedy, skillful midgets. We def need to add some variation but you don't always sign the players you need the most first. We may have to wait for our world class target men and rocks at the back. We'll probably see some more defensive midfielders arrive from the Germany ;)

End of the day he's an excellent addition

I also think its crucial that we make a big name signing early on as it may sway other big names who are undecided about joining us.
E.g. Eto just went from being offered a striking partnership with Bellamy to Tevez.... you know it makes sense Rodders.

I mean he is better playing a free role through the middle behind an out and out front man, but on the left we get exposed. Yes I don't trust him to play as a left winger in a 4-4-2. Read what I said. People have got to stop picking 1 word and then building a case on that word. This time it was 'trust' Robinho - leaving out as a out and out left winger, wasted and not giving cover to the left back. Solution, play him up the middle and allow him to roam.

PS I am 30 and don't play computer games.
