Erm one was our record scorer and the other cant hit a barn door , we needed a top class striker not him

So ? We are top of the league without a striker, as we were last year.
We didn’t buy Grealish to replace Aguero we bought him, in my opinion to move into midfield.
The signings of Grealish and Aguero’s replacement have bugger all to do with each other. We will replace Aguero when we can get the player we want to replace him.
Or after all the titles in the last few years do you think our transfer team don’t know what the difference is between an attacking midfielder and a striker ?

Mahrez is surely an elite player?

Foden isn’t there yet, he’s too inconsistent and doesn’t seem to have kicked on much this season.

Sterling is inconsistent too. And despite having elite stats at times, his general play has never been elite.

Jesus, much better than he’s given credit for but isn’t elite. His work rate is elite though.

Grealish, is he even a forward? Even if he was, he’s not elite.

No we don’t have a world class individual forward, so why single out one person and an attacking midfielder at that ? I don’t really count Foden as a forward either think they are both midfielders for the future.
Whether we needed a striker or not we needed the right striker that didn’t happen to be available, not any striker. Comparing Grealish and Aguero is just daft.As it happens we are doing fine with the players we have.

Why does it matter? As long as we are top of the league with a cushion there is no need to panic. Other sides may have World class forwards but behind us. Do we have World class parking and transport? No, but we have a World class coach, a World class club and a World class team.
