Do you like Christmas?

Obviously for those of you with Kids, Christmas should be a magical time, and so it should be but:-

The question is really aimed at those without children, or if you do have kids, imagine you didn't, what would your answer be?

Personally, I think it's a load of overblown tosh, having to meet relatives (half of whom you can't stand), endless adverts on TV featuring Mary Berry carving a stupid turkey, and usually the weather is bloody freezing.

Bah humbug!

Not massively - loved it when I was a kid and liked it when the kids were little but now like every old fart I just feel its an over commercialised bit of tat.
Everything people "need" like a jumper or a book they can buy - everything they may want say like a Lambo clearly isn't gonna happen.
I am not religious but I do think it was / is best left as a religious celebration - for me nowadays the high light is the Boxing Day concert from the Vienna boys choir that sort of thing

Doesn't bother me anymore, keep it low key. I loved it when our kids were little though. We always spent Xmas day with friend's and their kids.
I don't watch live TV or listen to the radio anymore, so no adds, I stay away from the December madness at the shops. (me and the wife don't buy each other presents anymore).
We go up to our sons on Xmas day, our other son comes up from Melbourne with his wife we have a nice day and Boxing day with a picnic at the beach or the park and that's it for another year.
Some people seem to go apeshit for a month but I refuse to get involved in that shite.
If I had no kids I'd do a Xmas cruise.

How anyone man gets excited by a jumper, a pair of socks, underpants, or aftershave is beyond me. :-(

In recent times we've always gone to my brother in laws house. 3 kids under 12, it's a joy to see their excitement. For me and the missus though...she loves it, I'd rather just treat as any other day.

This year is slightly different as I wasn't expected to still be here so I will do my best to be less grumpy about the whole affair...socks! Thank you...beaming smile...
Glad you’re still here my friend

I was brought up not to celebrate Christmas. All I see is rapacious marketing making people spend money for shit they can't afford.

The story is supposed to be love and respect your fellow human. Why can't we do that 365 days of the year instead of just 1?

I do enjoy the build-up rather than fucking about with presents that neither I or anybody else wants.

We've tried setting a nominal limit within our close family but some fucker always breaks it and everyone else feels a tight ****.

Best part of the day is if our adult kids are at ours rather than other places and after eating we just sit in the kitchen talking bollocks and sipping fine wine/getting hammered*.

No I fecking hate it my wife is Christmas mad and I have 3 teenage sons. I have 3 PlayStation 5 in my house and two gaming computers. I should have been a Priest and stayed celibate. The only thing lucky this year is there are no big presents to be bought although I've already spent £900 kitting the out with tracksuits and trainers.
I dread the Argos catelouge too.
Bah Humbug
