Do you look after your body?

I probably don't look after it all that well at the moment .. no !

But do i really want a lifetime of looking great with a 'sixpack' and a few muscles, and probably feeling miserable or bored with the constant, repetitive exercise, tedious dieting, and protein drinks, in the hope of keeping myself looking that way?? Probably not.

I like a few drinks, the odd takeaway, taking a few risks .... I wouldn't even mind tossing the odd wild woman into the mix too, but unfortunately they aren't quite as easy to get as the takeaways!

I'm not talking about going to the gym five times a week :)

Just simple things like not smoking, not eating crap, going for a nice brisk walk a couple of times a day etc.

I'm addicted to Chocolate and I love a good meat and potato, chips, peas and gravy in a chippy.

However, I have had enough, as from today it stops,

(I've been saying that for the last three years lol!)

Any tips?

I have a nice treadmill and exercise bike, I'll have to take the dust sheets off.

Over the course of the last 7 years I've given up alcohol, nicotine, caffeine and weed. Sugar is nearly there, I might have a Mars Bar every fortnight.

Im the fittest I've ever been and I look late twenties, thirty. I'm 40 this year

It's been fucking hard work but very much worth it. Mentally I'm in the best place I've ever been.

Diet wise I eat pretty clean. Swap pastas and breads for their wholewheat counterparts, potatoes for sweet potatoes. Drink plenty of water, sparkling if you're craving fizz.

I've also come to realise. Proper sleep is absolutely key to your body firing on all cylinders

NO!
Plan for the future live in the moment.
There are more dead people that had pans, than alive people without them

I do everything I can except limit Alcohol, will be far above the recommended allowance but would honestly find it impossible to wind down without it. Hoping the running and eating rabbit food compensates for it.

I don't smoke and I don't drink...

I eat takeaways twice a week, I also eat chocolate and drink fizzy drinks.

I go to the local boxing gym and it's brilliant, I genuinely love going, It's not an effort to go at all as it's something I look forward to doing, I tried doing all the equipment at home stuff and it's not for me I couldn't get into a routine and it's also boring as fuck.

I go to the boxing gym to learn and for socialising as I find it good for the head and also let some steam off.

Out of all of the above the best of the lot is staying away from alcohol, It's by far the best choice I've ever made and I don't miss it a single bit, It's life changing.

eat and drink in moderation and cook all your food from scratch. If you are unsure look at the labels on your favourites buy the natural ingredients - easy place to start is tomato sauce. Make a basic sauce - I do it in big batches and freeze it in portions much better for you than shop bought. Do you know why Dolmio ask you "what is your Dolmio day"? Its because Govt recommended you only have it once a week max as its full of salt sugar and shite. That sauce is the bedrock for soups - curries and of course pasta dishes.

Your attitude to treadmills and exercise bikes confuses me - dust sheets? I mean where do you hang your coats and hoodies?

Yes I don't smoke rarely drink have a pretty balanced diet and walk daily. Also captain a vets footy team at age of 55 in cheshire veteran league. You got to be keeping active while you can.

No need to quit chocolate, It has many health benefits, It's all the sugar in there that's harmful, choose extra dark,
Lindt 90% cocoa is great
