I’d arm the police the empower them to execute anyone who doesn’t return them properly.

I like to stand about 20 feet away from the trolley park and give mine a firm push towards the back of the line

Some daft woman round our way just wheels the things to her house to unload the shopping and then wheels it to the corner of the street she lives on and just leaves it there on the pavement/road. Daft, lazy tart.

Yes its not my trolley plus often has a quid in it, prefer to pop it in one of the quieter car park areas thus avoiding a beggar with a random dog or worse still a utility sales agent.
