Do you smoke?

Unfortunately I started smoking at 13 and it got a real hold of me. I've quit several times but always gone back to them :-( Now trying again with the aid of one of those electronic cigarettes & it seems to be going well so here's hoping :-)

I've smoked for the past 3 or 4 years and I f*cking love it. I don't smoke that heavily, especially since moving back home and having to go out in the garden to do it. I'd say I probably smoke 12 a day, give or take.

I nearly quit last week actually. Under pressure from my mum who wants me to give up and due to the fact that I was skint I didn't smoke for four days. I found it quite easy actually, just the odd craving here and there. Then, like the OP, I went out drinking, had a few cigs and I'm back on it now, much to the dismay of my ma.

The thing is, I know it's stupid, a waste of money and will undoubtedly shave a few years off my life but it's also something I really enjoy. I think smokers should be allowed to choose their own fate without governmental bodies (who just pretend to give a shit because they have to) and non-smokers getting pious. The smoking ban was a great idea - I agree that non-smokers shouldn't have to inhale our smoke - yet still many feel the need to preach. Like all great things in life, smoking is bad for my health and my mum doesn't like it.

In the words of the late, great Bill Hicks: "Non-smokers die everyday." Get over yourself.

I am sure Roy Castle agrees with the final Quote!
