Gave up the cigs but carried on smoking weed. Ended up rolling a spliff at 8ish before work, one for lunch and the days went like a dream..... ;-)

good post, well bad post if you know what I mean,,Hope for the best outcome for you fella..the math tell me you are about the same age as me..I know what you are saying about thinking you won;t see them win a trophy..I had the same feeling 2 weeks ago,,lasted about 3 hrs...Had a heart attack..Between that and having a heart procedure 2 to 3 hrs later i thought I wouldn;t see my kids get any older, and of course City win a trophy...Its funny how I seem to have lost any craving for a cig..r.soleofsalford said:i had my first cig when about 7 years old.
i`ve been coughing in a morning for quite a while but recently got a cold and struggled for breath for a few weeks.
so off to the doctors i trotted, you need a chest x-ray she said, i went to the hospital and sat in the queue. shortly they called my name and i went in, the usual ensued, take off you shirt put your chin here hands behind your hips and deep breath, ping went the machine and radio-ographer took the plate out of the x-ray machine and disappeared while i put on my shirt. on re-entering the room she asked me to take my shirt off again and stand sideways on to the machine. at this stage i knew they had seen something and wanted another look (shit i thought) forty odd years of smoking cant of done me much good.
3 days later got the phone call i`d been expecting. made an oppointment and went to see the doctor.
well lets have it i said, they think you have an infection wahoooo i said. the doctor told me dont get excited just yet. your not out of the woods just yet, there maybe an infection but it still could be hiding something else behind it.
so at the moment im on my 2nd lot of antibiotics still no improvement, and will go back on monday for blood tests, and later another x-ray.
it focuses the mind to say the least. i`ve finished of some decorating i should have finished weeks ago and re-sealed the shower in the on suite just incase.
one thing that has crossed my mind is it will be just my fucking luck after all this bollox i`ve put up with over the years, i might not see the boys win the league and cl.
so anybody that still is, stop now, i know how hard it is, but it will be harder telling the wife and kid if the worst does come to the worst

what a typical, sanctimonious, non-smokers answer
