Do you support the RMT?

“Modernistaion “ is another word for cuts, I’m sure it’s needed as they need to employ a diversity officer on about £60k a year!
The Finance Director of Northern Rail filled a whole room in her with toilet roll at the start of the pandemic. I don’t think these rail companies are interested in the communities “they serve” either.

And your issue with that is.... ? Its no longer the 1970's you know the world of work has changed - its fine save £60k a year then get one of these a year - makes perfect financial sense

Just crossed my mind that we've had the odd bus strike, but bus drivers can't be better paid than train drivers, can they?
Not a strike day but still a shit service - look at all the points and signals failures yet they want to cut maintenance in half !!!

The people who want to cut maintenance do so, not because they think it isn't needed, but because they want to deliver more profit. They are the same people who, as a result of poor or non-existent maintenance, when a train crashes and rolls off the track killing a dozen or so, will be uttering the oft quoted "Our hearts and prayers go out to the families, etc . . . . . . . ." They don't have a heart and they've never spouted a prayer in their lives.

The Avanti goon addressing the Select Committee ended up by suggesting that people wanted a 'reliable' service. 'Kinell, when did someone tell him that's what people wanted which, before Avanti burst on the scene, we tended to get from Virgin.

Dunno but a lot of bus drivers recently got pay increases of between 10 and 15%

The whole of The public transport infrastructure in this country is fucking mess, but especially the rail industry. Absolute rip off and generally a piss poor service for what you pay for.

Nationalise the fucking thing and stop the profiteering from somthing which is an absolute necessity to the future economic success of our country.
The fucking nhs is in tatters as well so the nationalisation of the railways would go the same way with these cunts in charge. It’s still got to be run properly even if it is taken into public ownership

Thing is if its nationalised then the Govt are held to account for how it works so have a vested interest in fixing stuff - at the moment you have private companies shrugging their shoulders and providing a shit service whilst expecting the tax payer to make good the losses arising out of that shit service ....... or simply handing the keys to the franchise back and just walking away
