Do you support the RMT?

Looks like the TOCs deal is not a deal...

It was a deliberate stalling tactic to stop us striking at Easter.

Expecting an announcement this afternoon which will demand further talks or we call more strike dates.
You had better not strike when we are at Wembley, just saying...

Dear RMT Member

DEFEND JOBS, PAY & CONDITIONS – TRAIN OPERATING COMPANIES

Discussions with the Rail Delivery Group took place on Tuesday this week to seek further details on the offer, but nothing has yet been formulated or proposed. However, meetings are scheduled to reconvene next week and I will report further following these talks.

In the meantime, I have today served formal notice on your employer advising them that your union is re-balloting you and your colleagues for industrial action.

As you may be aware, the anti-union laws stipulate that all industrial action ballots must receive a fresh mandate every six months. Therefore, with no resolution to this dispute having yet been achieved, there is a need to ask you again to vote YES for industrial action.

The voting papers will be posted out to your home address by the independent scrutineer overseeing this process from next Thursday (6th April) which will mean members receiving them following the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. The ballot closes on Thursday 4th May 2023.

It is vitally important that the pressure be maintained on the Train Operating Companies and it’s crucial that a new mandate for action is delivered. It is the actions taken by you and your colleagues in the fight for pay justice which has forced the bosses to get round the table and a further YES vote will strengthen the arm of your negotiators to win a better deal.

So, when your voting papers land through your door, ensure you vote YES and return your voting papers as quickly as possible.

VOTE ‘YES’ TO ACTION! KEEP FIGHTING!
THE CAMPAIGN FOR PAY JUSTICE CONTINUES!

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch

There we have it...

It was one big stalling tactic to fuck us striking at Easter.

Of course, 100%. To protect the safety of the railways, workers rights, and to support hard working people who deserve a fair pay rise rather than a pay cut.

"Public service" run for private profit shock.

There's a little story going around that the new trains appearing from Hitachi were chosen because some government officials have been bunged a few grand per contract awarded.
More likely an "understanding" about providing jobs in the North-East

Funny that the fire service win a pay rise. All of a sudden they are full of racist, sexist and bigoted cunts according to the powers that be.

You'd think the Tories are trying to make us lose trust in our emergency services.
Bad eggs in every organisation lots of dinosaurs (myself included ) have left or are due to retire, the new breed will take over and in time attitudes and vocabulary will change, the saying you can’t teach and old dog new tricks is apt in most of these organisation, i genuinely think the older end don’t do it intentionally it’s just they way they’ve grown up, Christ my mum and dad would never make it in the job market today.
They only time I ever saw experienced any bullying was from senior management, idiots promoted beyond their capabilities, who didn’t like that many below them were more intelligent and capable than them. So if they don’t get their own way they would shout and scream and threaten you.
Never had any problems with females or minorities in the job some better than others, just the same as “white males” but a very tiny minority seem to believe due to the recruitment process (which has been changed to a degree) they should get preferential treatment and dare I say had an agenda, however this is one or two bad eggs out of many, the same I would guess in any big organisation.
