Do you support the RMT?

I only asked because the current government has managed to find a magic money tree far, far bigger than the one envisaged by the Labour Manifesto of 2019. It is also responsible for having the largest tax burden of any government since war time so I’m just curious as to how they’d have ‘bankrupted the country?’
The difference being, it was to fund a world wide epidemic beyond our control, not to fund ideological policies

Well, clearly they are not a monopoly. Passengers and freight can be moved by road so there are alternatives. If you mean no other form of transit can use the rail system other than trains, then yes, but then trains don’t work on roads either.

Ahh Right. If there are ready made alternatives so no body is inconvenienced and which we can all use what is all the fuss about. Strike away

So they didn't hand out inflated contracts to their cronies and appoint Dido Harding to lead test and trace when NHS and public health were already better equipped to carry out contact tracing?

On a related note, Barristers have voted to strike next week bringing the justice system to a halt.

No doubt the Govt will threaten to bring in agency workers to replace them.
Funnily enough at the barbecue I was at last night I was discussing this with a retired criminal Barrister who I was sat next too.
He was telling me some of them on Legal Aid work we’re earning as little as £12,000 per year and not had a rise for years.
It kind of highlights the £80,000 + rail workers also public funded looking like they have a good deal already.

I thought people understood that the lockdown and paying people to do nothing with money we didn't have would lead to massive economic damage and pain for everyone? We can't afford to give everyone inflation proof wage rises, the country is skint.

Would you be willing to take a voluntary paycut or pay additional taxes to the exchequer to help out then?

How do you know they are high labour rates and better t&c's? What are you comparing them with bearing in mind as you say this is a monopoly?
Just look at the number of applications to the number of vacancies and that gives an indication as to whether a job is overpaying or not.
Also if you were a Bus Driver, you would be very lucky to be on about 1/3 rd of those wages.

Has become a battle of ideologies.

I don't believe either the government or the RMT leadership have the workers or the public as their first concern.

Capitalist v Communist.

I know which system I would rather live in
I cannot think of one Communist Country that it’s ideologies have stood the test of time

You'd think there's no way this level of stupidity could be an elected representative of the people, but alas...

Agreed. Highlighting for electors the reality of today (assuming it happened) to forewarn electors of the dangers of tomorrow is genuinely inane.
