Do you support the RMT?

The difference being, it was to fund a world wide epidemic beyond our control, not to fund ideological policies
But if we ‘couldn’t‘ fund it, how did we fund it?
You think we couldn’t afford Corbin policies under ‘any circumstances’ whereas what the pandemic response proved was we could have afforded it, we just choose not to.

So they didn't hand out inflated contracts to their cronies and appoint Dido Harding to lead test and trace when NHS and public health were already better equipped to carry out contact tracing?
I seem to call the Labour Party screaming at the time that the Government weren’t moving quickly enough.
Desperate situation called for desperate measures.
If we all had Captain Hindsight’s magical powers agreed, mistakes wouldn’t have been made

Has become a battle of ideologies.

I don't believe either the government or the RMT leadership have the workers or the public as their first concern.

Capitalist v Communist.
Has it fuck.

None of these workers are demanding to own these companies, they just want better working conditions and pay.

Fuck all to do with communism.

It was funded by borrowing as it was an emergency.
Corbin policies were not an emergency and could have only been done by today’s everyday spending being paid for by future generations.

The big problem the railways suffer from is if they are a public service or a business, trying to straddle that line is pretty much impossible and the way the goalposts are moved in the UK means you end up with the railway we have.....(and that's from someone who worked for close to 20 years on the railway in the UK and overseas)

Funnily enough at the barbecue I was at last night I was discussing this with a retired criminal Barrister who I was sat next too.
He was telling me some of them on Legal Aid work we’re earning as little as £12,000 per year and not had a rise for years.
It kind of highlights the £80,000 + rail workers also public funded looking like they have a good deal already.

The Govt has decimated the legal aid budget to the detriment of the public, the justice system and indeed, barristers.

Yet another example of extreme conservative ideology in action and causing harm.

Have you ever given thought to the alternative way of securing better working conditions and pay.
For those who work in the private sector, the holding the gun against the bosses head to secure what is wanted. Is not an available option.
We have to look at ourselves, if we feel we are undervalued, we go out and test our feelings in the jobs market.
If it’s true, we take an alternative job that gives us what we deserve without causing disruption to those innocent customers that have nothing to do with the disputes but it’s having a major impact on their lives.
Don’t you think that is a much less selfish approach.

My view is that railways are a necessary infrastructure and should be classed as an essential public service. They are not a business.
