Dear RMT Member,

DEFEND JOBS, PAY & CONDITIONS - TRAIN OPERATING COMPANIES

As you may be aware your Union is continuing in dialogue with representatives of the Rail Delivery Group following an exchange of correspondence recently.

Both sides are considering how we may work through the current dispute and are taking account of each other's standpoints as set out in the letters.

No proposals have been made and it is likely further dialogue will take place between the parties considering the possibilities available to us.

I will inform you as soon as there are any material developments to report.

Yours sincerely,

Sounds like there may be some movement at long last?

Our mole in the DFT says the backlash to ticket office closures has surprised them and they will either have to roll back on it or do it anyway and use the RDG as their human shield.

As an aside they are also considering closing two London Railway stations to fund pre election budget bribes.

Manchester Airport station has removed two of the four main ticket machines. The ones that sell you a £6.20 single to Piccadilly for a "buy now" ticket when there are "advance" tickets for £4.20 on TPE and £3.50 on Northern. And TPE have added a bank of their own machines to a wall where no-one would look for them.

Time to really start thinking a bit more strategically...
I’m surprised the RMT had the time to discuss this at the TUC, given the apparent agonising as to whether they should support - or just abstain on - the motion expressing support for Ukraine.

Mind you at least they didn’t vote against it.
