Do you support the RMT?

It's a bug bearer of mine.

They've also promised backpay will be in the Christmas pay if accepted.

Looking at the referendum timetable the result cut off point is past the last day of the pay period making it impossible to do so.

My own cost of living has gone up 33% over the three years of the dispute. 5% equates to 1.6% per year. The caveats as well mean I will be voting no. However, the feeling I get is that it will be accepted by the members just wanting the backpay asap. If it does I'll seek the redundancy in 2025.

It’s a common tactic with bosses, not just on the railway.

Intentionally make talks drag on for months and then in November offer a slightly improved shit deal and people just start working out how much back pay they’ll get for Christmas if they accepted.

As if it was some generous bonus they were offering. Rather than what they’re actually due, minus the interest the company have pocketed from not paying it in April.

What do you make of that music in the background? It's obviously a subliminal message or some clown's left Classic FM on in that back office.

As I member I found it embarrassing and very amateurish.

For a major announcement in the history of the union someone at head office needs a shoeing for letting that out.

I'm a staunch member of my particular union, and have fully supported the RMT dispute throughout. I guess 100% this offer gets accepted, although begrudgingly in some quarters I presume. Mick Lynch seems almost angelic in this video in comparison to his usual demeanour , lol.

He has a fantastic dry sense of humour. Would like to see the bloopers.

I suspect it will go through. I'm in the minority on this but will accept it.

some pay deals being struck at the moment - makes me think a GE will be sooner rather than later. Still reckon @ March as its half term and a lot of students will have gone back to parents thus some younger votes may not be cast and we know what the young voter thinks of this lot

I suspect AsLEF will be made an offer now to call of the strikes nest week.

As you say I think the GE is coming.

Aslef will not be calling off the strikes until the govt allows the RDG to let Aslef negotiate with each individual Train Operating Company. Aslef has not ever wanted a blanket deal for all drivers because each TOC has different terms and conditions.
