Do you support the RMT?

We're hamstrung by what we can and can't do under strike laws.

We wanted to do a revenue ban so members wouldn't lose out but legislation makes that illegal.

The only thing we can do is withdraw our labour and disrupt that way.
I know mate. Not saying you shouldn’t, just saying it’s not as effective as it once would have been.

Tube strikes for a week from 23 July now too! Brilliant. What a shit weekend I’ve chosen to go there. No trains on the Saturday and now no tubes on the Sunday/Monday.

Will they be closing all of the ticket offices and putting even more people on the exits at terminals?

There isn't even a ticket machine at stations like Ashburys, if you are forced to buy online and show a QR code what happens if your phone runs out of charge or gets nicked?

We as a society are moving too fast we need to slow the fuck down.

As it stands at the minute, if there’s no open ticket office or working ticket machine you can board a train without a ticket and pay at the first opportunity, without penalty.

How long that lasts before you’re obliged to buy a digital ticket when there’s no alternative is anyone’s guess.

As for your other question, if you claim you’ve a ticket on a non functioning phone, you’re treated as if you’ve no ticket.

This will put people off from travelling by train. When its a normal working day ( some operators wouldn't recognise one of those ) and revenue is down so Govt doesn't have to fill in the shortfall gap for them what happens then? We all know - when revenue really falls they will just hand the keys in and walk away unchallenged and without penalty

Yes I still do. Despite the earnings they get, despite the gobshite approach (Destroy everything unless we get a pay rise) of unions, I still value the job unions do.

I have also experience working (In Care) with no union backup and my god it was an eye opener.

Never, ever, let business be given free reign to abolish unions... We're going to get so much of that shit in the next generation IMO with all the right wing (Rich people) media we are seeing rise. They will tell us its raining whilst they piss all over our rights...

Before we know it we'll all be led to believe we're lucky to have jobs! Little America.

Today we're at various booking offices around the country as part of campaign to keep ticket offices open.

Lots of public support so far which has been soured by local managers at one station, and possibly others, using BTP to seize petitions off us calling the day of action an illegal protest.

Should just have a petition on line and hand people a small card with a link for them to vote on there

Flyers given out also have the links on there.

The union are aware the barcodes put on the posters for public consultation go direct to the TOC website trying to flog cheap tickets rather than the true link.
