Do you think we will WIN a Trophy next season?

As for the cups they are a complete lottery. There's no such thing as a "should win game". Notts County were minutes away from beating us last season and if it weren't for that run and cross from Micah we wouldn't have had them great days in April and May! We could just as easily go out away to Shrewsbury as we could beat Chelsea in the final. and that's not being "typical City" that's just the nature of the cup.

As for the Champions Lg, this first season I just want us to do what we can. I'm actually hoping for the Spanish, Italian and German champions in the group stage. Barcarole are in pot one, AC Milan are in pot two, City are in pot three and Dortmund are in pot four. No piss easy Twente and Bremen like Spurs had (Christ we had more difficult teams than them two in our Europa Lg group)! I want us tested from the outset, I want us to prove ourselves against the best. If we manage to finish first or second in the group stage I would mind if we ended up going out in the first knock-out round. I'd much rather go out then and finish third in the Prem than get to the semi-finals and finish fourth in the Prem!

So basically my only expectation for next season is to finish in the top three again. If we don't win a trophy I won't be bothered one bit. For the rest of my days if we finish anywhere in the top three and have no longer than three years between a trophy win, I'll be more than extatic!

For those saying well win or challenge for the title what exactly will change from our away games at Spurs, Villa, Arsenal, United, Chelsea, Everton and Liverpool where we picked up a meager 2 points out of a possible 21? I think these games are where we need to pick up more points to challenge for the title and I don't see Mancini's tactics changing for them games, so what will change?

The thing that has changed is........... The squad starting to really gel towards the back end of last season, we out powered them in the semi after a poor start as real belief that they could win kicked in, a strong Stoke where brushed aside in the final and it should have been at least 4-1.

So right from the off the players will know all about each other and Mancini will have more confidence in how to let them off the leash attacking wise and we will reap the benefits of this with a big shiny trophy.
 
I'm not sure why people think we'll win the Carling Cup as it will be a reserve side in every game. I don't think Bobby will be too fussed if we exit that competitoon early.

Being realistic, i think it's likely that we WONT win anything next season. I think the year after next is the time when we can win the league. We're not ready to even challenge for the Champions League yet, and defending the FA Cup is hardly going to be easy.

We're capable of course, but i'm trying to remain realistic.
 
History is against us in retaining FA cup, Prem league could be down to what we do against them in the derby games, if we had won both derbies last year we would have finished on same points as them. Carling cup seems a good competition to go after, normally other teams play second and third teams. CL not going to win it, happy with getting out of group stages that will be sucess in itself. If we don't get past group stages dump the EL and concentrate on prem. Really do want us to get the community shield whether classed as a trophy or not, brings confidence to players and reminds them of that winning feeling.

Prediction

PL - 2nd
Cl - should get out of group stages
FA cup - no we will get dumped out.
CC - great chance of winning it.

Community Shield - Yes please especially doing the rags at wembley again.
 
We wont WIN anything.
If by any chance the FA mess up again and let a trophy find its way to East Manchester, it will have been bought with merceneries that have no loyalty and dont like each other or the manager.

The priority has to be the league we must finish top 3 to ensure CL qualification again - no point qualifying for the CL this year and doing a spuds - everything else is secondry - and no we wont win a trophy may maybe Carling Cup is our vest bet
