Do you think we'll finish in the top four?

I still think 6th is a great achievement for a club that has bought most of it's team in a season, and faces the competition that the Premier Legaue provides...

I think it would be a total disgrace.

Who would you have 5th? Spuds or Villa presumably? Allowing either of those teams to finish above us would be utterly shameful.

Why?

Both are settled teams with great financial backing who have built their team over several years.

I firmly believe we have a Top 4 squad and, when we play 4 3 3 and everyone is fit, a Top 4 side. I'm going to reserve judgement for another month. If in that month Hghes reverts back to 4 3 3, I genuinely think we will finish 4th, if he keeps fucking around with 4 4 2. Not a hope in hell.

on our current form i think we will struggle to get in the top six. if we play like we have done against chelski ans arsenal and spurs god help us. i do hope im wrong

Settled teams? Harry's only been there 12 months! As our manager has been in charge for 18 months, that's a bit ironic. Only 12 months ago, they were in crisis with their worst start to a season ever and their manager sacked. 12 months later, we are accepting that its OK for them to do better than us? Unbelievable.

Plus, it might have escaped you that unlike those sides with "great financial backing" as you put it, we have had an open cheque book. We have spent double what Spuds and Villa have spent between them!

We should finish 4th. I am not a Hughes outer by any stretch just now but if he fails to get the team to properly compete for that spot then I will be at the end of the season. We'd be aiming even higher already if we were more clinical and more professional in defending a lead.

Can't agree with anyone who thinks a finish outside the top 4 would be satisfactory...I don't think for one moment the owners believe the "aim" is top 6....

Personally, I think it's going to be a very interesting race between us and Liverpool for 4th...I in the end, the quality and depth in our squad will overcome their experience...

You seem to equate financial power with success. This has been proved wrong many times, most recently with Leeds and Newcastle.

It was the money running out at Leeds that cost them, when they were spending they reached the champions league semi finals.

Newcastle is just the textbook, how not to run a club.

In general, financial power does equal success and it will with us while we continue to spend the sort of money we are spending.

For me, an improvement of 3 places in 2 years after spending £200m+ in transfer fees and god knows how much in wages won't be a great achievement.

I don't think we need to make top 4, but we shoudl be pushing top 4 all the way. I suspect we won't make it and will finish 5th or 6th, and that is fine with me so long as we are still right in it going into the last weeks of the season.
