Does anyone remember the time when everyone wasn’t obsessed about dogs

Anyone that owns one of those defective made up breed of dogs that can't breath or see properly, or something, is a twat.

Don’t have to be defective mate. No such thing as a mongrel these days, just join the two breed names together in some sort insta friendly way and bobs your uncle. Jack Russell and a poodle mate and all of a sudden you’ve got a breed of a dog called a russodoodle or some such shit name that some daft **** will pay £1k plus for, you could get a mongrel for free when I was a kid.

And I love dogs. Had a Jack Russell as a kid which I’d take ratting on the farm - brilliant dog that - always looking for a fight, have two west highland terriers now which are both full or heart - especially the youngest but she’s a bit thick, went after a deer the other week until she got far enough to realise that thing that looked smaller than her in the distance when she started out running was actually much much bigger.

Also I don’t understand where bulldogs came from ? Did bull fuck a dog ? if so that thing doesn’t look anything but more like hippo had a gangbang with some weirdos .

I remember when people took dogs for walks and they were on a lead, now every one just bikes around with their dogs running through people's yards, shitting everywhere, chasing my chickens. Like dogs, hate most owners

This is a cracking post and in a few years I have no doubt I will get a dog . But it also shows you how the human race has evolved. There is so many people who would give to animal charity's but not any for humans. Many People now think more of pets and interactions are more with them or about them when they do talk to a human in the real world.

True, but again that is a human problem. I still think people with who love/own animals/dogs are more likely to display empathy though.

With regards interactions I think the most important thing is that its a positive interaction and for many people, without a dog, an interaction which would never happen. Its a real conversation opener and provides a kinship with so many other people. Case in point I walked around my woods for 1/2 years, rarely communicated with anyone, since having a dog I speak to dozens of people with the conservation developing from just dogs to other aspects of life.

I am a pretty social person but for other people, the dog and the interactions as a consequence must be vitally important in preventing loneliness.
