Does anyone still buy a tv license?

I think its about twelve quid a month and for the range of TV and Radio I get from the BBC - never mind the BBC repeats I have paid for filling up so many other channels - I think its incredibly good value. Always had one and always will. If you compare the other PPV providers it is good value given the wide range they have to cater for.

Were I in the no camp then I'd be in trouble having already had one. I'd be on their list of no longer subscribing so would be on their hit list as its unlikely someone would go from having one to not. As far as I know the old detector vans were a lie - you can detect transmission not receiving a signal so they relied on lists of who didn't have one on the street and yes the used to come round on an evening coz if your curtains were open ( ooeer missus ) they could see into your front room and the glow from your telly !!

The question has to be asked though, if you are not watching / listening to the BBC why should you be forced to fund it?

Because you invariably will be watching something that has BBC output on it and is free to air - most freeview channels are chock full of BBC repeats

Output that the BBC has flogged to said freeview channels that use advertising to make their revenue.

I don't believe for a second those people NEVER watch a BBC programme or tune into a radio station
If you could only see how crap telly is in Oz
I'd pay for BBC twice over if I could get it
I download the odd drama and most are fucking brilliant, so is radio

yeah but it comes from the days when the digital age was not even an idea and we all paid our license fee..........I have always thought it was good value - reinforced by the advent of DAB in my car
