Does anyone still have a video player ?

On a different matter do any of you IT whizzes on here know the best way of getting old camcorder tapes transferred into a laptop?
Have you still got a camcorder that the tapes fit and play? If so, then you play the video and use a device that connects from the camcorder directly to the computer. Takes a bit of effort to understand what you need and how to use it. If you don't have the camcorder you will need to buy one. That's what I had to do and I think I still have it somewhere.

Something like this ...

My stepdad had a vhs porn stash in a hidden compartment under his sink cupboard. Does that help anything?

Cheers pal. We do still have the camcorder but it’s broken. The cost to pay someone to do it is exorbitant

You can have mine if it’s suitable. It’s only for 8mm video tapes, I don’t think it plays Super 8 or Hi 8 or whatever they were called. It’s a Canon UC100 if that’s any help. It will probably end up in landfill anyway.
