Have you still got a camcorder that the tapes fit and play? If so, then you play the video and use a device that connects from the camcorder directly to the computer. Takes a bit of effort to understand what you need and how to use it. If you don't have the camcorder you will need to buy one. You can have mine if it’s suitable. It’s only for 8mm video tapes, I don’t think it plays Super 8 or Hi 8 or whatever they were called. It’s a Canon UC100 if that’s any help.
