Lucky, lucky, lucky....ffs, I'm sorry but under Manchini we've gone backwards, i.e Very mid table shit.

Every team that wins the league, gains access to TopFour, on occasions, is very very lucky. We've been a little lucky this season but you don't get anywhere solely on football ability. Stokes fans are rueing their luck with that last 'goal' but that episode takes us into the top four, and whilst I wait patiently for fluid, entertaining football to return and we experience a Pompey/Hull scoreline again, Sunday would be nice, I am very content waking up this morning and glancing at the table. The table doesn't lie.

People go on about Stoke being hard to beat. So are we!

I'm all for giving Mancini time, something we are not good at. However this is a results driven game and at the moment he is doing ok on that front. Performances are a different matter, turgid is a pretty good description even when we have won it's been non-descript and let's be honest about it, boring.
I don't want to see 3 defensive central midfielders, especially when one needs a rest and one is not up to the pace of the game, I want to see SWP and Ireland going forward at pace terrorising opposition defences.
Sunday is a huge game for us as everybody knows and hopefully we will put out a more attacking team, if we play with the same 3 defensive central midfielders then I fear for us against Liverpool.
I really want to come away from games thrilled and going over the moves that brought goals, close shaves, great saves from the opposition goalie, at the moment I'm not getting that feeling at all, far from it.
I'm not really sure who is at fault with the way we are playing, the players or the manager but whatever it is, it's not working.

Mancini doesn't have a clue??? He is on objective already, we are fourth, 1 game in hand, and if/when we beat the red scouse at weekend we are 4 points clear, with villa and spurs still to play at home!!

it is unbelievable that some people on here are getting angry about drawing at stoke, not only did Mancini get a point and Hughes lost there last year but we are in 4th spot and have a great chance of being there come the end of the season, i mean at least we aren't in pompey's position or even lesser palace's.

Some people on here need to get a grip, yes we are not playing well and playing all out attacking football, but i for one am going to keep supporting the club because if i remember rightly we are in the premiership in a champions league place and not in a fecking relegation scrap like several previous years.Since the sheikh's takeover and the influx of money we have had, it astounds me, how fickle some fans have become!! Where have our so called great fans gone?

Couldn't agree more. Think alot of fans need to take a reality check. We have no divine right to get anything in this game and whilst the football was not pretty to watch and we looked a little clueless at times we have to remember that we were without our best attackers Tevez and Bellamy and we've still managed to get into 4th. That is the target and we're on target. A win at the weekend and get something out of our other game in hand and we'll be laughing. Why does everyone have to be so bloody negative all the time?! Do any of you actually remember the dark days when we'd could only dream of playing the Premier League never mind being near the top?!

I think its looking more and more likely that Mancini is a stop gap - and if so, why not stick with Hughes till the end of the season. Garry Cock and his 'trajectory' b*llshit looks like a clown now... and I also doubt we would have lost to the rags if Hughes would have still been in charge!!

Santa Cruz is the worst player i have seen in a long time, and for that signing alone Hughes had to go.

Santa Cruz plays better when he's on the bench!

Mancini was going mental at the side in the second half - he even grabbed Micah and told him to keep wide. I think that's the only reason Zab came on.

But then we have to ask why are the players not doing as the manager wishes? No. 1 reason has to be lack of leadership on the field I'm afraid.

I'm not enjoying these performances though, and I'm frustrated because I know we can do much better.

I'm not sure whether Mancini is a stop gap and I'm obviously far from sure that we will make 4th place but I do feel more sure that we would have lost last night under Hughes and that we wouldn't be currently sitting in 4th place with a game in hand under Hughes. I think this is why we didn't stick with Hughes because EVEN if RM is a stop gap and EVEN if we still don't finish 4th, it was worth taking the chance because we were sliding down the table under Hughes and would NEVER have finished 4th conceding 3 goals to the likes of Sunderland and Bolton (a team who many moaned after we beat them and kept a clean sheet). Incidentally, when did Cook ever not look like a clown?

The test will come in the next few games as Mancini has not actually played a team that was in the top half of the Premiership at the time we played them. Everton were 12th at the time we went to Goodison. We've got Liverpool on Sunday, Chelsea the week after and possibly Spurs the week after that. I'd certainly settle for 6 or 7 points in those, however bad we are.
