Well teflon dom still special advisor & i suspect for a little while longer...maybe for as long as he wants.
That media questioning was very poor, Wasting all time on same or similar questions when everyone knew he would just bat it away with the childcare get out of jail card free guidance bit.
The 30min car trip to the river adjacent to the castle & then 30 min back to the cottage as a fitness to drive check before driving back to London the following day is obviously completely false and will be picked up.
He said he had to drive to the hospital as no taxis available, well there would have been plenty in London?
He also said prior to the trip, his wife had vomited but didnt have a cough or a fever eg no covid symptoms. Therefore he should have followed policy or called nhs 111. They would have told them to stay put. If wife developed symptoms then she to be isolated in separate room from dom and the son. If they followed that, if and when he developed symptoms, he should isolate from the wife and child then she would childcare. At least one journalist got him to confirm that he didnt seek or take medical advice before making the trip.......
The guidance says you may not be able to follow all the points of guidance, if vulnerable person in the household. It doesnt mean you can unilaterally ignore any of the points. You need to show what points you can follow first to resolve the issue. Therefore how did he try to resolve the issue first, what examples can he give?
He didnt seek medical advice first, he didnt call nhs 111, not particularly difficult? Maybe NHS call handler could have given him their experience of countless other families with vulnerable family members and how they were coping with those difficulties and put his issues at ease. Maybe remind him that its really important to stay @ home and advise him of the addotional strain it would put on an already strained NHS were he to have an accident. In particular, as he confirms that he wasnt sure he would be fit to drive as he needed an hours test drive to see if he could cope with the x4 hours the following day.....
Finally it was laughable when he went off story when the single parent in tower block coping with covid 19, he said his parents estate was just, well concrete blocks, not very nice place to be, yet in response to previous question, well yes, i was spotted collecting bluebells in the woods but thats private land and so noone near us, its basically just our garden for lockdown rules.
So is it a concrete jungle or walking thru the beautiful bluebell laden private woodland estate?

Boris said yesterday he did not go on the day trip,today Cummings said he did,taking a car down to the river to test his eyesight,really lolHe is and has explained and held his own against some really aggressive questioning. There are some who will not accept what he has said and what his explanation is of his actions.
I can understand that Boris accepted his side of the story and most employers would for their employees. He has kept his cool and not risen to the media questioning, which some have tried very, very hard to get him to do.
Now saying that many of the stories in the media are false. Good attack on the media there.
The question now is, did he break the law, bend guidelines illegally and in a manner which makes his job untenable.
In my POV, the answer is no and he carries on. I think he will be back in the shadows soon where he works best, but every move he makes from now on will be reported. He is going to be followed by the media from now on.
But again, while we all have to cope the best we can, this is a specific incident that can be isolated.I honestly think this is where things get personal rather than objective. We have a neighbour across the road whose other half was stuck abroad (still is). She gas,had to break every rule under the sun to take care of her kids while she's been single handed. We all do what we can.
