Dominic Raab

Johnson and Gove hate each other, fell out during the 2016 leadership election. Gove then backed Hunt instead of Boris in the last leadership election, while Raab endorsed Boris after dropping out.

He is the foreign secretary so it's not like he's come out of nowhere.
Thanks, every day is a school day

Does politics even matter now? I’ve read a few threads tonight which have political bias.
Honestly, there’s a bigger fish to fry, let’s stand together and stop political point scoring.
Stay home, stay safe.

Degrees from both Oxford and Cambridge so hardly an intellectual pigmy. Whether he can apply his intellect is another matter.

His CV prior to standing for election is remarkable, he's clearly a very intelligent man. That doesn't always translate into being a good MP though, and It's a shame that he seems to have spent the first 8 years as an MP doing fuck all, and entered the public consciousness in the last 2 fumbling around with Brexit and looking not all that competent.

Brexit being the complete clusterfuck it is though, probably not fair to judge him entirely on his performance trying to negotiate.

Who told you to stay home and stay safe?
Yes, a politician.
Of course politics matters. Someone needs to run the country and there needs to be a discussion about how it’s done. That’s politics.

I read his Wikipedia page today and I must confess, and as much as it pains me to say it, his background was far more impressive and interesting than I was expecting. A lot in there to respect. He has fuck-all charisma though, and doesn’t seem remotely authoritative; so it’s still a big ‘no’ from me.

Much as it pains me to say this too, but Gove would be the best candidate, by a country mile; may god strike me down!

Only just seen this, but completely agree about him CV. It pretty much blew me away. Very impressive.

He was clearly wank at negotiating, though.

Jesus wept. We’re in an enormous crises and we need a statesman. Instead we have Dominic Raab?

How the hell did we get to this? An intellectual pigmy who doesn’t even have the respect of his own cabinet.

He’s going to get a proper sweat on alright.
I know nothing about him my guess would be that at least he probably knows how to spell pigmy (sic)
Sorry Mike, couldn't resist.
