Prof positive you have no idea what you are talking about! It was absolutely one of the primary reasons he became a viable candidate to his base. Look up the term "dog whistle" to understand why he says what he says and the way he says it! Only when he oversteps dramatically does he even bother to restate it slightly more palatable. Most, though, he sticks with it because the people he wants to the subliminal text love hearing it.

By 3,000,000 less people than voted for his opponent. That's the system "at fault," and having a good understanding of the lopsided electoral system.

Brits seem enamored of proportional representation. Check out how that would have looked. Check out the EC votes given to rural, low population states versus the heavily, and densely, populated states (most of which are solidly Blue) and you begin to understand why Republican narrative is what it is. It is all a sham, but they rely on poor education and right wing radio to do their dirty work for them....and this time it was successful. We'll see how it works going forward, with the demographic changes occurring. Wonder why Trump is so hard over on all those American "rapists and terrorists"?!

I see the same political bias in the US as there is in Europe, we're lurching between far right and far left and it isn't going to end well if our politicians don't reach a consensus for all. The way votes are counted is less of a concern.
