I could not believe this was real, i had to scroll away on the boston news site i saw it on. I man with such little self awareness should not be in control of a scalextric let alone a large nation.

Hey don't underestimate the guy. It takes some skill to further embarrass himself whenever he opens his gob.

I couldn't come up with a classic line like: “I hate to tell you, Puerto Rico, but you’ve thrown our budget a little out of whack”.
No doubt it'll get a mention in future publications of Disaster Relief for Dummies.

No fucking way he said that!. I feel so desperately bad by those duped by him. They thought they were getting outside help against the system and instead get a yes man who is seemingly thick as two short planks. His lack of self awareness is astounding it really is. Why would you say that or throw stuff out like that given the context, oh man he is just... i have no words.

The look on his wife and the dude next to hims face when he started talking about how it wasn't a real catastrophe, complete fear. Proper "where the fuck is he going to go with this" looks, for once he actually almost managed to bring it back around onto the point that he was supposed to be there to make, but the guy is clearly incapable of making this sort of genuine speech The opening "joke" is the sort of thing you'd get on the after dinner circuit and he clearly just doesn't know that's not appropriate in this scenario.

After the initial treatment for the 500+ injured, what happens to those that don't have health insurance to cover being shot by a psychopath?

Even those with it are gonna be struggling unless pretty rich. I read an article literally a day before this event, i can't find it currently but i'll look again. Basically runs into millions to fully recover a lot of the time.

I don't think the outside world is bothered any more - we just look on to see how high the body count is this time. If they don't want to take democratic hold of what they face and do something about it then sadly America - the greatest democracy on earth we are told - gets what it deserves.
