Playing devil's advocate...
They look like trigger words to remember the key parts of his speech in the correct order. More of a reminder to get through points 1-4 before the presumably more emotive 'I hear you' section.
It's not hypocritical to change your opinion on something in the face of more evidence.
No. He just finds it difficult to emote or have empathy. It’s like when he stands there grinning for the camera in hospital pics. He could be standing over a corpse and if someone took a picture he would grin and give a thumbs up. When hurricanes were battering the US he picked up on wind speeds in a ‘gee wow’ kind of way. Or how quick first responders got to a scene rather than the horrors of the scene itself. It’s not the people or potential harm to people that triggers his attention it’s something that he finds impressive in the way a 7 year old boy would.
Arming teachers is a nonsense. Trained policemen have a low accuracy level. Adding more armed people into the mix with at best superficial training and who are not use to these situations is just pouring petrol on the fire. Half the casualties would be ‘friendly fire’. Also when police do get there who the hell are the bad guys? The shooter or the half dozen panicked teachers running round the place shooting at anything that moves? The idea is beyond moronic.
