Congress has five main functions: lawmaking, representing the people, performing oversight, helping constituents, and educating the public. Any Congressman who who though this was acceptable has failed in their duties.
And if they're willing to spout obvious bullshit to appease the gun lobby it's not hard to imagine that they'd lie about Russian influence in the election in order to appease Dumb Donald.That's what I mean about their judgement.
