It works because his army of morons will now believe that what Cohen has pleaded guilty to isn't a crime, which therefore means that what happened with Cohen yesterday doesn't really count. Problem is, when he does finally get set to prison (which I'm convinced he eventually will, but it might be after his presidency is over) these fucking clowns will believe it's a deep state conspiracy and go apeshit. It's going to get really fucking nasty when Trump does go down (in my opinion).

The subtlety here is that Cohen has admitted to a cover up and illegal use of funds to do the cover up. There is more to come on this. The cover up will get blown away and Trump will end up lying on oath or admitting to whatever was going on. This is before we get into any dodgy dealing that Cohen has on Trump and you can guarantee there will be loads given Cohen only had 3 clients.

The best one is the theory that: when Cohen represented Broidy in an arrangement with a former Playboy model named Shera Bechard, who was paid $1.6 million to keep quiet about an affair she supposedly had with Broidy, which resulted in a pregnancy that she aborted, Broidy was acting as a fall guy to help out trump. You heard that hear first (assuming you don't read WaPo). Imagine that coming out in court. Could not make it up!

It won’t affect him during his presidency but all criminal charges will be deferred until his term is over
