The identity or motives of the whistleblower isn’t important. Why aren’t the media screaming that from the rooftops?


When someone calls the police and reports seeing a bank robbery, and the police go and catch the robbers in the act, the caller doesn’t form part of the prosecutions case and who they are is immaterial.

This is very valid analogy but the Trump / GOP defense here is classic what aboutism. However bad the crime or behavior just point to something else, even if it's an argument with more holes than Swiss cheese and say look at that.

The problem for them 'should' be that in a court of law that does not work. You don't get of by pointing to other crimes - and trump has given up defending on the base he is innocent all they bang on about is process and personality, they wont carry much weight in a trial. If this is presented as a slam dunk in the senate then it puts the GOPers in a real difficult place as giving Trump a free pass on this king of corruption is not a vote winner for those looking for re-election but neither is throwing trump under the bus. Its lose lose for the GOP.

Saying that the whistleblower 'may' have worked for former VP Biden is the same as saying anyone in the intel community works for the current VP. In fact, it's like saying anyone who currently works in government works for the President.

The administration is currently clambering over themselves to name the whislteblower for the sole reason of trying to discredit them. To say they came forward because they are a 'never Trumper'. To say 'they have an affinity to Biden'.

What they won't say however is that the substance of the reporting is true, that the Trump administration partook in the attempted* extortion of a foreign nation for political/personal gain, and the subsequent cover up.

*Not taking into account that there may be evidence of previous successful attempts of extortion against Ukraine.

I know that this won't happen but a great press conference (a great line in a film they could make one day) would be someone to come forward and say "I am the whistle blower!" and then someone else to say No "I am the whistleblower!" and then another and so on an so forth. With the whole room arguing over who is the whistleblower and then the camera panning over to Trump getting all fired up because we all know he can't take a joke especially if its about him.
